Updates and running commentary from our critters

Awwwww. Heartwarming

If I let them in the bedroom Ziggy will hide under the bed so he won’t be evicted.

Mika died last night. I was asleep; the cat lady was with her when she died and she didn’t wake me up. Mika is in another room right now. Mika and Ziggy both have/had appts at the vet today so the cat lady will take Mika so she can be cremated. I was going to tell her that it was time for euthanasia. My beautiful girl. 15. RIP.

I’m so very sorry, Meekah. She was a beautiful girl, and no doubt you gave her the best life possible. Always such a heartbreak when they leave us :broken_heart:

I hope you and Ziggy can provide each other comfort. Big hugs!

I’m so sorry for your devastating loss. Mika was lucky to have a loving parent like you. Hopefully Ziggy can help get you through these tough times.

Ziggy is a real snuggler. I know I should get a sibling for him asap but with the stroke I don’t know if I’m up to it.

The most important thing is to take care of your health first. Once you are back to full strength, then you can get a sibling for Ziggy.

Mrs. P is itching to get another cat, but after just spending $7,000.00 in vet bills on our dearly departed Gucci, I’m trying to get her to hold off at least until next year.

Today, Ziggy was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Next step:cardiolgist and echocardiogram. He’s only a year old.

Gucci had a heart murmur and lived to be 13 without medication.

I had a heart murmur and had to have a mitral valve repair. I don’t think they do that with cats. :eyes:. I’m reading that it can sometimes be nothing. Fingers crossed.

I’ve had a heart murmur all my life. Hopefully Ziggy’s is as non-eventful as mine. :crossed_fingers:

Many of my cats have had a heart murmur, and lived to 12-16yo with no medication.

Laszlo was diagnosed with a heart murmur when he was two years old. We decided not to get the EKG and just see if anything happened - nothing did. He’s now 12. (And his iron was low the last time his blood was taken - we’re headed to the vet today for a re-test. Wish us luck.)
