This tiny momma bird was very upset with me when I had the temerity to take a stroll past her nest, which was hidden down the embankment by a small brook out of shot. She was not having it at all.

The dove’s first step is to raise herself up and puff out her feathers to appear larger. If that doesn’t scare me enough, she’ll make a quick loud flap, like a beaver slapping its tail on the water (which I have also been confronted with).

That’s an interesting harness.
