Updates and running commentary from our critters

Saw this on FB and had to share. Good boy, Ned!

My dog likes kittens like the. Makes a good bed. One of my daughters cats was all just and pissy with him on first meet. Three hours later my dog’s abed for all three of her cats; like Ned.

Someone greeted me at the door of our bedroom with an agenda in mind.

We had a country cat who used to thank me by depositing an almost dead mole on my kitchen run.
“Er, your welcome but no thanks!”

Finn has spent the last 3-4 hours chasing a very large fly that has buzzed between the LR slider window and the dining room window, jumping upwards of 4 feet in mid-air like a circus cat.

He just came flying in to the living room and slammed his paw against the slider, dragged it down, pushed both paws together on the ground, shoved his face in between his paws…and ate the fly.

Then he looked straight at me with a look of “Told you I would get it” as his licked his lips. Then he sauntered off to lie down against his cat scratching post.

Weirdo cat.

Parker loves to catch and eat house flies when they get in. I told him I should have named him Renfield!

That just screams “Eye of the tiger” by Survivor… Finn’s new theme song!

Thank you

Does Matisse go riding in the car, window open, head out and that tongue flapping in the wind?

:grinning: He’s too short to look out the car window, plus we keep him belted into a doggie car seat.

I hesitate to call them “my” critters, but the mourning dove couple whose nest I hosted on our balcony twice before is back for round three. They raised but a single chick in the past, on our utility shelf. This time I tried to discourage them from nesting there (for reasons), but they out-maneuvered me. So now I’ve got this going on.

You’d be surprised how menacing a small-ish bird can be when you’re JUST TRYING TO GET SOME DAMN SAGE.

Just has to protect the sweet babies.

I know. But I’m not a hawk or a falcon. Just someone trying to keep the plants alive while she tries to keep the chicks alive.

This is Mochi. Seen here dealing with our latest heat wave with more grace and tolerance than I am.
