Updates and running commentary from our critters

Cats and vacuum cleaners have been enemies from the beginning of time… like, at least a few billions of years.

Well, we’ve seen the cats that like to ride a Roomba…but the only thing my sister’s cat fears is the stick-type vacuum we use. She’s pretty much fearless of everything else in this house. :joy:

My corgi learned both “W A L K” and “O U T” - both the words and the spelling. Luckily he did not figure out “change of environment”. He had a huge vocabulary. When I came home from work (back when we went to offices) I always went upstairs to change before taking him for a walk. It took me the longest time to figure out how he knew if I was going back out after I walked and fed him or staying in because he clearly know, every single time. The difference was whether I was wearing earrings or not when I came back downstairs. Scary smart dog…

They (cats and dogs) are all smarter than we are. We have to work; they don’t. And they e figured it out.

They are getting along now??

Look at those pars (paws)!

The girl gave Ziggy a thorough bath yesterday. He’s now got 2 moms, it seems. The only fighting that occurs is when he chases after her and wants to play. She’s 14. She doesn’t do “play” so she voices her displeasure and comes running to me. Fortunately, he then gets one of his toy mousies and brings it to me to play fetch. And we do - over and over.

He’s almost as big as she is now.

Oh the kitty love. Thank you for sharing!
Our grandcat ‘Rocket’ is visiting and she gives the 15+# black cat a run for his money. They used to snuggle up and wash each other. No so much
anymore. He’s slowed down so much.

I’ve only had 1 cat live past 14 … and she made it to nearly 20. So I try to protect my beautiful old girl.

That one paw with a VERY large middle finger. The visual of the cat using it is hysterical in my head! They are adorable together, @Meekah!

I read that Siamese live the longest.

My ancient kitty was Siamese. However, the other 2 that I had only lived to 13.

“Mom and Dad! Go to bed! We don’t need to wait until midnight!” - Parker, cat.

No, that’s not my latest cat. It’s a half of a huge baked potato. With a lot of butter. Which I was enjoying last night. Then … I looked away. And the little demon began to help himself. I yelled in frustration. He looked at me, and licked his lips. Slowly. Deliberately. With great relish, both at the taste and at having bested me. Cat -1, Meekah -0.
