PS: Were there no golden Persians for adoption in any shelters near you?

. Iâve driven31/2 hours each way to pick up 3 cats - the first one I did the round trip all at once. The 2nd and 3rd I stopped overnight at the destination the night before, picked up the cat the next morning, and headed home.
I think itâs great to meet a cat / kitten before adopting them. You canât really tell a catâs personality from a picture (maybe a video is more expressive).
No.
Ah, fer shame! Glad you found the perfect match ![]()
Yes, I would have liked to have met the cat in person as well, but a 7 hour round trip is just too much. This breeder seems very nice, and other pet owners have purchased multiple kittens from her and highly recommend her. One person is on her 4th kitty. Her Facebook page is Fancy Feline Persians.
Thanks! This will probably be our last kitty, since we will be in our 80âs if she lives a healthy life.
When I was a young mother I decided I had to have a real Persian kitten. Chinchilla Silver, sorta white/grey. I didnât know I shouldnât have chosen a shy one.
He was always shy, hid under the bed when visitors came by, very inactive.
Years later I decided I preferred Siamese type cats, much more lively. I had a pair of Abyssinians and now a Tonkinese. My daughter works at the SPCA, has 2 rescues. This one was very afraid of her new recliner but has started to adjust to it.
I knew the breeder beforehand, too.
My boy needs a sister, but my age now makes me hesitant
Maybe you can adopt an older cat (around 4 or 5), instead of a newborn.
A friend (and former CH) started to only adopt senior cats, for which I have nothing but admiration. I donât think I could do it, but she finds it incredibly fulfilling to provide these cats with love in their final years ![]()
Our first cat was about a year old, which is also when their personalities are more developed than a kittenâs.
Stunning, those eyes! Have you picked a name or are you waiting to get to know him better?
Thanks. Itâs a little too soon for a name but we are leaning towards Monet (so we have Matisse and Monet; M&M)![]()
I had a housemate who had a Persian. Her name was George (after George Eliot) and she was a chonky girlâroommate had her on diet food. One time I went away on a business trip and made the mistake of leaving my bedroom door openâI came back to find huge clumps of white fur on my bed.
We had a woman come in today to work her nail-clipping magic on our two hellions, since Iâm still mostly one-handed â although watching her work Iâm not sure I couldâve done what she did even if I were 100%.
Jake made top of a list she runs for, um, most difficult cats to clip

Glad our kitties are velociraptors no more ![]()
I saw a sign in a pet store yesterday that said $25 for nail clippings; hopefully you paid less!
Same at our Pet Pub branch. $20 for dogs, $25 for cats. Having watched the poor woman deal with Mr. Squirly here, I understand.
She works with wildlife and various environmental groups in the area â PT only due to a disability â and she supplements her income with this service. $5 base pay plus $10 per cat.
I am happy to support her, especially given her personal circumstances, and will recommend her to all the cat owners I know ![]()
