Updates and running commentary from our critters

I frequently find little paw prints on my stovetop, and the placemats are often askew on the dining room table. Believe me, they’re up on your counters when you’re not there or asleep. :paw_prints::cat_with_wry_smile:

Mine use the counter to get into the sink. I gave up years ago

They don’t care. And the squirt bottles don’t work.

An ex boyfriend of mine got a new kitten and he trained him NOT to go on the counter. Whenever he’d try, he’d bang a rolled up newspaper loudly on the counter. It only took a few times doing this for the cat to learn not to do it.

My cat doesn’t roam around the whole house, she’s kept to the back part. I wouldn’t want her underfoot while I’m cooking.

Cat has lost his tolerance for eating while someone else is in the kitchen - the slightest noise spooks him, and forget about running the water or opening the fridge. I am in there cooking, and he keeps coming in, walking up to me, staring, and then walking into the living room to meow at H. Literally trying to convince H to kick me out of the kitchen. This has been going on for 20:00. He’ll eat a couple of bites, and then I’ll do something unforgivable like pit an olive.

They decidedly do not GAF. Jonesy practically lives in the sink, regardless of whether there’s anything in there to eat / lick or not, and there is absolutely zero learning curve. Zero.

Well? How dare you interrupt Cat’s dinner?

I don’t know where this sudden delicacy came from, but I am not a fan.
