YEA for the brie wheels in stock for holiday season.
Melted beautifully for baked Brie, and good flavor.

AMAZEBALLZ — sorry, YEA for the English toffee bites with chopped nuts. Like a tiny version of the addictive toffees with dark chocolate and pistachios (minus the pistachios).
A “feel-good” size toffee… if one can stick to having just one vs. polishing off the entire bag. This one lives in the pantry.
Today I saw something at TJ’s that I’ve never seen before in 40 years of shopping there: a completely empty egg case. I went there because the egg case at Whole Foods was also nearly empty. TJ’s avoided the last round of shortages a couple of years ago. I ended up getting some at a supermarket, and their case was half empty.
They’ve been empty around here with each shortage, and with the supply chain issues. Maybe you’ve gone at a time when they were restocked in those instances.
I had the same experience and was told there are two reasons. Apparently bird flu is making lots of producers trash their eggs, and TJs supplier ended their contract. We went to Harris Teeter after, and found a few cartons, but not many.
wondering if this is a regional issue.
i’m in the boston area, and the somerville tj’s had plenty of eggs when i was there this morning.
also asked about hazelnut availability, and the official word is that they’re waiting for the new crop to be harvested.
TJs is pretty good about telling you when things are being restocked.
Last week they told me to come in the next morning for chicken, salmon, eggs.
I often shop in the evening, but if they’re only getting one delivery in the morning, they’re done for the day by then, vs when there’s a second delivery, they’re restocking through the day.
Yeah, she said eggs will be scarce there for a bit. Trying to find a new provider, at least in our area. We’re having to do family holdback.
That could be. California has pretty strict regulations on chicken coops, and it could be that most of our eggs are produced in-state.
MEH for the Harvest Chocolate Assortment. I tried a dark chocolate “pumpkin” filled with hazelnut paste, and it was very sweet.
maybe not. the 2 TJs in Indianapolis have limited stock of eggs & are compensating by putting other dairy items in the empty space.
The TJ’s egg case in Asheville, NC was likewise empty last visit. And Aldi has a two-carton limit.
Eggs (and dairy, some produce, and fresh/not packaged breads) at TJ’s are sourced regionally, so it is likely so, depending on the situation with their suppliers.
We’re loving this year’s boxed Comice pears!
Do you have access to winter farmers market? I’ve bought eggs there.
Yes, good thinking! And it just occurred to me that a friend’s brother keeps chickens. He could become very popular!
My PIC swung by TJ’s and Wegmans on his way home today, and came back with this bucket
This is very good / very bad / terrible news. A YEANAY?
I guess it’s a holiday repackaging of this old standard of theirs. I used to buy it before I left the States in 2009. It’s basically TJ’s version of Almond Roca.
My worry is this new (according to the latest Fearless Flyer) product:
OMG. I have been so busy that I asked LLD to do the grocery shopping this week. Going to ask him to look for these.
