I actually prefer the fridge to the frozen, but often keep a pack of frozen on hand for convenience. I guess I’ve had better luck than you.

I like their center cuts better than WF who will sometimes try to force a piece I don’t want, but that also depends on which WF and what they have available when one gets to the fish counter. (If it doesn’t appeal I walk to Citarella, which is a bit more expensive but generally great quality.)

I’ve also cured a nice hunk of center cut from TJs with good success.

I saw them today and maybe just had a different image in my mind, i.e. not a popsicle… more like lemon bars, but mango?

Anyway, I didn’t get them. BUT I picked up more of that luscious stracciatella, which I haven’t seen mentioned here yet. A big YEA for that.

They’re definitely something like a popsicle. A center of vanilla “ice cream” surrounded by a coating of frozen mango purée. Since you’re German, you may not be familiar with what a creamsicle or dreamsicle is, but it’s like I described but with an orange sherbet or orange popsicle on the outside and they look like this:

If you aren’t into such frozen novelties, passing on the item is probably the right decision. As for lemon bars, I guess you were expecting some sort of pastry? That’s definitely something these aren’t.

I’ve been resisting their creamsicles all summer long (they call them tangerine vanilla bars or something along those lines)!

I figure I’ll give in when I have someone to share the box of 6 with (though usually when I buy a box of 6 ice cream bars I open it when I get back to my building and offer one to every staff member I run into, which leaves me 1 for myself, and maybe 1 extra… so maybe I don’t need to resist anymore )

Yeah, we have those in Germany, too, even if they’re not called the same thing. I’ve also lived here for over 2 decades now  I would probably prefer just a mango popsicle.

TIL 2 things:

① You have similar things in Germany.
② That you’ve lived in the States for over 2 decades.

Sorry ‘bout that‼️

 :bowing_man:

Absolutely no reason to apologize. I don’t think a lot of peeps here know either.

I always get a great cut at the ues wf, don’t know how they do it cause they never try to force end pieces on customers. One of my pickleball partners told me today that the only place they order fish from is dorians, which is about a 3-minute walk from our apt. I’ve walked in a couple of times but not ready to pay > $50/lb for fish.

He was a famous doctor, his wife is still a renowned doctor, I guess it’s pocket change for them. still, I’m a little curious now, it might be a Pandora box in the same way costco prime beef became our everyday order.

meh: reduced sugar organic raspberry preserves. flavor is fine (i also prefer less sugar), but the texture is odd — smooth, almost creamy — not unpleasant, but odd. ,

nay — really wanted to like the spinach ricotta mini ravioli, but small size made it impossible to taste the filling — totally overwhelmed by the pasta.

  • meh for their chipwich knockoff, too sweet, cookie too soft.
  • yay for the mango sticky rice bites!

That’s what I thought.

Something new I picked up today:

Bought today, not too spicy. I don’t know why I don’t look at the info while at store. Sodium is way high at 34% for 6 crackers.

Kids wouldn’t like but just makes your tongue tingle a little.

Thanks for posting the ingredients and nutrition label. Is it a yay, then?

I was wondering about those. Their stuffed pastas are all a bit scant on filling, but the minis looked pretty plump.

The crackers are not tiny, I ate 3. I think they could have called a portion 3 and then sodium would have been 18% or so. Still too high.

I buy Noah’s bagels, bakers dozen cheaper on Mondays. Usually get ½ sesame, ½ everything. Slices thinly with serrated knife. On foil lined ½ sheet pan, brushed with olive oil, 350° 12+ minutes.

Keep well and I don’t think the sodium level is high.

This question may not be appropriate here, but I’d like to know if anyone knows of a widely distributed corn chip that is like the TJ’s Organic Corn Chip Dippers. Aldi has what seems to be a similar one but I’m looking for something at a market like Ralph’s, Albertson’s, or similar chai. Here in OC. Just want an alternative for when I have a craving and TJ’s isn’t on my agenda. We’re getting Aldi’s within 1/4 mile later this fall, so I’ll have that. TIA

Careful … I used to really love Fritos but now they are GMO modified. I think TJ avoids that mostly, probably Aldi too. I’ve never been to an Aldi, none around San Francisco.

Based on nutrition info Nature’s Promise Organic Corn Chip Dippers apoear to be what TJ’s is rebranding. Not sure about your area, but their products are available in major supermarket chains here in NYC like Stop & Shop and Giant.
