I actually prefer the fridge to the frozen, but often keep a pack of frozen on hand for convenience. I guess I’ve had better luck than you.
I like their center cuts better than WF who will sometimes try to force a piece I don’t want, but that also depends on which WF and what they have available when one gets to the fish counter. (If it doesn’t appeal I walk to Citarella, which is a bit more expensive but generally great quality.)
I’ve also cured a nice hunk of center cut from TJs with good success.
