Trader Joe’s Product Reviews – YEA/NAY/MEH – 2025 Edition

Oh I miss that hollandaise! I’d like to see the unripened brie back too!

I’ve never fully recovered from its discontinuation.

As long as we’re reminiscing about what we miss:

VALRHONA CHOCOLATE

and those French Chocolate Wafer Cookies (my very favorite) that make such brief appearances.

LOVE the chocolate covered figs they only stock before Christmas; I’m still hoarding a couple of boxes.

Also pre measured and shelf stable

I have more pantry space than fridge space

Me too! So good. We gifted some to a teacher.

They make wonderful gifts and last a long time, especially if you hide them from yourself!

I’ve never tried these, but you just sold me on them. I keep BtB in the fridge, but I sometimes find it too salty and only so-so for chickeny flavor. It’s fine in a pinch, but I’ve been buying Costco/Kirkland chicken stock boxes. I would love something less bulky and better flavor.

The only reason the open bag is still there is because I had started munching on them while I was preparing dinner on Saturday. I made myself stop to not ruin my appetite. Since then, I seem to have come down with a mild cold where I can’t smell or taste anything… things seem to be returning this morning, so I’ll probably demolish the rest of the bag today. Off to TJ tomorrow for more.

Agreed - even with the low-sodium version of BtB chicken base, the chickeny flavor is lessened. I make as much chicken stock as I can at home for my freezer, but these are nice for a quick 1-cup needed if I haven’t defrosted anything. And if still too salty, you can cut it with a bit more water.

Big YAY for Saturn Peaches. I rarely buy peaches other than at farmers markets but these looked good. They exceeded expectations. Perfectly sweet, juicy, and unblemished.

I sometimes find a low-sodium version, which I prefer.

OK, you’ve sold me. I’ll have to try these. I wish they came in a jar rather than single-serve disposable plastic packaging.

Those are my favorite peaches in general, regardless of where I get them. Never had a bad one.

In case anyone thought I was joking about 3 bags of the hot honey popcorn… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I’ve never forgiven them for discontinuing the sun-dried tomato crostini, and that was 30 years ago!

I use Bulldog root beer (most other work ok) and vanilla ice cream and some crushed ice in a blender to make a root beer freeze, similar to the orange freezes we got as kids at Baskin Robbins.

Even better than a root beer float.
If you like root beer floats, try it once and I’m sure you’ll agree with me.

I like their ice cream mochi. Strawberry is fine. Coffee is yum. Seen once only. Newest black sesame is also yum.

Unanimous YEA in our household for the Garlic Butter Irish Style Potato Chips. Most chip flavors are at best a distant approximation of the thing for which they’re named, but these actually taste like garlic butter to me.

OK, I stopped at TJs to pick up a few other things I needed after a trip to Penzeys in Arlington, MA. I had forgotten about these chicken stock packets, until I saw a large shelf area devoted to boxes upon boxes. I got two of them.

Upon putting things away at home, I realized that they weren’t what I had previously purchased. They used to have a low sodium version, which is what I still have a few of at home. I don’t recall seeing them on the shelves today, but if they do still have them, I’m back in that area next week and will exchange them. Here’s the two different boxes of concentrate packets.

And while I was there, I asked if they had graham crackers. This is what they had. Not the usual look, but since I wanted them to crush for a cheesecake crust, I figured they’d work. (They had cinnamon GCs, but I wanted plain.)

A bit thicker than graham crackers as we all know them, so slightly more difficult to bite into. But the right graham cracker flavor, perhaps with a smidge less sugar.
