Some recaps from last night.
You GO, Gregory!
Gregory’s white bean vinaigrette reminds me of one for a Ceasar salad dressing I learned at a Healthy Kitchens conference.
From the primetimer.com link
" Can we really trust the edit that is setting up Melissa to take this whole thing home? The rise of the King has been a true joy in All Stars L.A. , as the cool-as-a-cucumber queen has sliced through her competition and racked up wins. In Boston , her chill demeanor made her fade into the background a bit, but here, it’s been her greatest asset in her keeping calm among such legends. Statistically, she may be underperforming compared to Gregory, but her edit has been superior all season long."
Finally watched. Actually still watching.
Lee Ann nailed the QF. And looks like Stephanie nailed the EC with her two EC dishes. We’ll see if I’m correct. But Voltaggio put together two REALLY nice dishes for the Elim. Hmmm… But Karen, Voltaggio, and Gregory are Top 3. And sure enough…it’s Brian Voltaggio, his first Elim win! YAY!!!
I want Voltaggio’s carrot dish recipe.
I have a feeling Lee Ann is going home. I really hope it’s not Melissa! She’s getting hammered for that salad by the judges. Bad decision on her part. (People who took eggs but didn’t use them screwed the others, unfortunately.) And decision time…I was right. We’ll see how she does in LCK.
I do too!!!
Spoiler alert!
Some of last nights recaps.
Same picture!
P.S. I think you should watch LCK too.
Hello? I’m going to need someone to talk to here!
Holy Shit. That LCK was something else.
I think it was in the first episode Top Chef boston; the Greek guy picks him in a challenge, and someone said “Hello; I’m Gregory…”.
I don’t remember that at all. There was a period of time I stopped watching and I think I may have missed that season. I’ll have to back and watch it. I like Gregory a lot.
I still haven’t seen the one from the week before!
It was great!!! Happy with who won too.
Me too.
" Since George performed the worst, he must choose another chef to compete with head-to-head. If he wins, they both stay. If he loses, he goes home immediately. Obviously, he will want to pick one of the weaker contestants. It’s like that advice magazines give women saying that when they go out they should go with their ugliest friends so they have the best shot with any guys they meet, #feminism. George picks Gregory Gourdet , since he and Gregory fought over who would get mackerel and who would get clams on their team, and George lost that battle.
They have 20 minutes to make a dish using the ingredients from the quickfire. George makes a pan-seared mackerel with fennel and orange salad and warm clams. Gregory does a trio of chilled seafood, a move which Adam Harvey claims is his way of saying, “Hi, my name is Greg, and this is how big my dick is.” Though Padma and Richard enjoy both dishes, Gregory wins and George is sent home."
Thanks for the recap. Now I want to watch that episode even more.
While I love to live in the bliss of the TV edit . . . . does anyone really believe that there was an option where no one would have come back from LCK? But it was still fun to watch.
The 2 part LCK was good, even though I agree I can’t see someone from LCK not making it back, since it wouldn’t seem fair. I wonder if there is consideration of how strong the contestant is on how to structure the challenges, or of they are decided early on. I think most would agree that the winner is one of the stronger chefs who could easily be in the finals.
I personally love kaiseki, so I love when there are challenges that show case this. Love the artfulness of the presentation and the simplicity (meaning more emphasis on natural) of the food and cooking. I am waiting for them to ask the chefs to do kaiseki for the finals one of these days (and go to Japan).
I’m confused. I saw part one of the two part, but assumed part 2 would be the quickfire on the next show. Has that been shown already:?
Part two has been shown on BravoTV.com. I expect the winner to show up on Top Chef on this Thursday’s Top Chef episode.
