Top Chef 23 to be filmed in...

Twins! I used to think the Viktagio brothers were twins.

That’s a great idea about tying in the Asheville rebuild. I wish they had chosen Asheville for the main location. Such a lovely area, the mountain region culturally distinct from Charlotte with some really good cooking going on there. Charlotte is very different from the coastal low country of Charleston, however.

Fun! I spy a local chef who’s been making some waves on other cooking shows too.

No fair teasing! Local to where?

From Boston area, and specifically my city which is just south of Boston. His restaurant has been getting a lot of buzz since it opened a few years ago, but interestingly enough, the latest James Beard award nominations recognized his restaurant neighbor across the street. Both have been doing really interesting modern takes on classic Asian dishes.

Premiere date is March 9, with the premiere episode available for early viewing March 3 on Peacock.

And contestant details.

Husband said he saw a commercial on “appointment” television recently, but I couldn’t find it. Might be the same as the Bravo links above.

I found this.

NBCUniversal Spices Up Season 23 of ‘Top Chef’ with Bold Brand Partnerships

“Bosch Home Appliances, Cracker Barrel, Duke’s Mayo, Finish® Dishwasher Detergent and Additives, Graza Olive Oil, Josh Cellars Wine, Morton Salt, Talenti Gelato & Sorbetto and The Active Cash® Credit Card from Wells Fargo”

The Dukes Mayo makes sense because that is where is started

I’ll give them the Duke’s Mayo since it can be a versatile kitchen ingredient (even though I’m not a big fan), but Cracker Barrel… ? Are they going to recreate old time’y food?

Disclosure: If not clear, I’ve never been in a Cracker Barrel in my life. I don’t even recall seeing one ever.

That’s a good thing.

I didn’t realize for the longest time that they were not connected to the cheese and cracker company. I used to think, “Wow, how much cheese and crackers can you eat and enjoy to make a whole restaurant chain concept with that.”

I’ve never eaten in one; only went in twice in desperation to look for something specific in two stores (my searches separated by years, and I didn’t find what I needed either time). But aren’t they known for their breakfast all day, and biscuits and gravy and country-fried steak? So maybe one of those will be the tie-in.

I’ve been to one once or twice when traveling in the south, and I seem to recall it was a popular breakfast spot and it had what I guess was a gift shop. I thought it was fine for a traditional Southern American breakfast on the road.

“Viewers can get a head start on the new season with early access to the premiere episode, available beginning Tuesday, March 3 on Peacock, Bravo’s YouTube channel, and VOD.
