Titanium Chopping Boards?

I know. The ad showed up 2-3 times. At first, I was like… wow… all these toxic problems with wood cutting boards and plastic cutting boards. Then it got really funny when they offer titanium as the perfect solution

“Another way to get mold on a wooden cutting board it so place it at your doorstep, kind of like a welcome mat, in a rainy climate.” – Ha ha ha.

These ads are so creative. I remember ten years ago, there were a small push for some enameled cast iron cookware. The argument is that all other cookware are … (wait for it)… toxic. Copper - toxic, aluminum - toxic, clayware - toxic, and even stainless steel - toxic because of chromium. Cast iron and carbons teel cookware are toxic for some other reason.

Long story short, everything is toxic except for enameled cast iron cookware. The ads were not from Le Creuset or Staub. They know better than to do that.

Really, I saw the black cutting boards in a store and was thinking about trying it. It is expensive. I even asked the owner won’t it be easier just to have a fully plastic board instead of putting wood in the middle.

How the board looks now: I prefer a 100% plastic board that doesn’t require pampering, or an end-grain wooden board, which I acquired some time after getting this one.

Thanks for sharing the images. They may have over did the grip/non-slip surface. All these “waffle” like squares will definitely trap things. Not sure why they did this. Most plastic boards have an uneven surface, but not little squares like these.
