Titanium Chopping Boards?

Another hardness comparison chart

check the various knife makers specs on hardness.
if the knife is not harder, on the same scale, the titanium plate will be mashing the knife edge right proper.

I think the hardness comparison only gets you part way to a solid conclusion. Even a maple end grain block will roll edges. So regardless of whether you use maple, plastic, bamboo, glass, or titanium, hone frequently on a minimally abrasive or polish rod.

It’s not a matter of which is harder. The issue is whether the board is soft enough.

Soft enough, but also hard enough you won’t get those dangerous wood shards in your food.

Do any of you actually use toothpicks? I have used them, but really rare almost like once a year.

Only for spearing olives or sandwiches. That’s why God invented dental floss (which is also good to sew certain things you don’t want to rip away with)

I have some metal ones (stainless, not titanium) for martini olives. They get regular use.

I see, but you don’t use toothpicks as toothpicks, right?

Even a doctor (John B (with no last name) -must be ashamed of himself)) recommended it.

We always chuckle at the stethoscope signaling a doctor in commercials. In this case a doctor of philosophy and not medicine. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Or this one;

WEE-GO-VEE!

Hmm, never sewn with floss. I’ve done fishing line, but never floss. Zip ties are my emergency go-to.

I miss the cinnamon ones we used to get as kids. Olive stabbing and cake testing is why I keep toothpicks around.

I do not use wooden or plastic toothpicks as toothpicks. I cannot afford goose quill toothpicks. I do use a WaterPik.

Floss is great for heavy duty jobs like repairing very old shoes, canvas bags, etc. b

Sewing the ribbons onto ponte shoes …

I Googled Ponte. I assume you meant pointe. I was a double major in college, English and Dance. The amount of time my partners spent on their shoes was staggering. I think it beat the time I spent polishing shoes in the USN.
