Nothing out there on the origin of the name. Based on the ownership group, it was probably “painstakenly” researched before the store launch…

Good catch!
As I remember the launch of this development group about eight years ago, they brought the $15 craft cocktail to downtown Detroit. I was a bit aghast.

So someone grouping their “pizza joint” in the same corral as Buddy’s, Shields (which failed to get a mention) and Cloverleaf Pizza simply doesn’t understand Detroit Style Pizza.
