Today I’m feeling the loaded fries. Maybe chili cheese, maybe the dill. The cuban sandwich would be fun to compare to stuff I get locally. I’m almost never happy with chicken sandwiches so I’d pass on those.
I prefer blue cheese to ranch, too!
…
I ordered a moment after I posted the menu, so I wasn’t influenced by you or @tcamp.
I went with the smash burger for my DC, and I had the club sandwich.
I ate a third of the burger and 2/3 of the club sandwich.
I didn’t realize the burger had 2 patties. It was great.
Club sandwiches where I live often are not triple deckers.
This was a pretty good sandwich.
Both good, I’ll try some fries on a day we can eat at the Market.
What would you order for breakfast at The Little Beaver in Komoka, Ontario?
I have my doubts about whether the hollandaise would be homemade, so I’d go for a Western omelette add mushrooms.
Definitely on the lighter side! I’d just go with the breakfast sandwich, with bread.
Breakfast sandwich, sub sausage for back bacon, specifying English muffin that is toasted, not griddled. Homefries, if I was extra hungry.
The Little Beaver is a greasy spoon that’s been around for decades. I’ve dropped by at least half a dozen times, so I knew from previous visits that the portions are large and the Hollandaise would be made from a powder.
I’ve also become pretty good at making Hollandaise at home over the last 4 years, so I only tend to order Bennies at fancier restaurants, unless I’m having a craving.
I ordered the 3 egg deluxe omelette to go, with rye. I split the omelette with my breakfast companion when I got home.
The Butter Tarts. I didn’t buy any since I’m avoiding sweets right now. LOL.

I won’t post photos of the entire menu.
What would you order?
I ordered 3 dishes tonight, 1 dish from the Noodles section and 2 from the Gourmet section.
I’m intrigued by J12 if it’s grouper fish. I’d likely get the salt and pepper squid tentacles and kung pao chicken, plus a green veg.
How many things am I allowed to order?
As many as you like!
Yep, for some reason, many Chinese restaurants spell Grouper Garoupa in Ontario!
I splurged tonight.
Ginger and green onion lobster ($56.99 Cdn was the market price, Lobster Lo Mein would have been $61.99),
honey garlic ribs,
and Singapore noodles.
- Stir fried king mushrooms with pea shoots
- Stewed E-Fu noodles with crab meat
- Spicy pork hock
- Steamed rice (because pork hock)
- Baby pak choy with garlic sauce
I’d have to try the Beaver Dam poutine, probably veggie version
It is congee weather here tonight. So I’d order the scallop and tiger shrimp congee and stir fried eggplant and potato dish from the Szechuan section of the menu
I need to try more congees. Maybe this winter.
I tried my first one this summer in HK. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
I’ve only had it twice. A blinged up congee at a congee place in Toronto with some friends who used to go for Chinese food after skiing, and a free one inside the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge.
Jambon Beurre and a Boston lettuce salad
