Here you go – from the beginning:
Or adults at a joint with table clothes for a doo wop group ?
I’ve never heard some of those songs before! Can’t beat Holland-Dozier-Holland though.
I’m looking at their faces and I can’t help wondering what they were thinking as they watched those kids dancing.
DelMonte tomato sauce here
Neglected to include something for The Primettes’ early days contemporaries, The Primes; here’s the best known incarnation of The Primes:
Thank you!
Iconic.; 'Bah bum-bum, bah bum-bum, bah bum-bum"
Isnt that David Ruffin? Were they still “The Primes” when that was released? Still the Temptations to me. Or MAYBE Smokey and The Miracles, if you insist.
Early days of Joni Mitchell, EmmyLou Harris, Neil Young & other greats.
From the archives of Vanity Fair.
David Ruffin sang lead for the hits made during the group’s classic lineup. As far as we understand, The Primes were not a success, and had a different lineup around Otis Williams and Eddie Kendricks.
It’s a gas!
I have a Mad Magazine record from the 60’s, as stated on it “It’s a Gas, a real 33 1/3 record as vocalized by Alfred E. Neuman.”
It has two pictures of the great one on it.
The record is some innocuous music with a series of belches with the last being three consecutive ones by Alfred E. Neuman hisself.
He couldn’t be mistaken for Jumpin’ Jack Flash . . .
Jumpin Jack Flash, its a gas!
Love this @winecountrygirl, and @Auspicious, especially the first line. Seeing it live is over the top, happy for the memories.
Wish I had seen the Stones. Love the super old stuff.
