Same here. And I tried more than once.
Same. It made me feel unclean. And I watched every episode of Riverdale.
I know what you mean ⦠Iām pretty liberal, open minded but some of sexual situations are a bit hard to watch.
I felt that way about Californication, which also got great reviews. I used to have a massive crush on DD from way back in the X files days, so I thought Iād love it.
Nope.
I worked with a guy who went to high school with DD. I remember one time the phone rang and one of the junior guys on the desk picked up the line. He asks the caller who are you calling for and then the callerās name. He paused for a moment, then stands up to shout across the floor āHey ***, David Duchovny is on the phone for you!ā That got an interesting reaction.
OH. MY. GOD
I was not familiar with this gem, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Made my week <3
Also, donāt you mean āchickSā (and dudes, judging from the video)?
I guess it even got radio play when it was new, because I first heard it playing in a Manhattan supermarket. That, or whomever was tasked with assembling the playlist for the Food Emporium was a bit cheeky.
And the Golden Globe goes toā¦
Ayo Edebiri ( who thanked the assistants who answered her emailsā¦)
and
Good for them. Loved Ayoās dress and whole look. I like the Bear and my favorite episode was Forks and Ritchieās redemption. Christmas dinner episode with all the guest stars was too over the top for me. Speaking of stress I just canāt get myself up for watching Beef. It won awards for both its star but the whole road rage premise fills me with stress.
I enjoyed Beef more than I did The Bear (but fully realize Iām in the minority here). I also found the much touted and beloved xmas episode WAY over the top, and the second season in general annoying. The ending for Beef wasnāt all that satisfying for me, however - much as I can appreciate a bonding psychedelic experience
Happy for Ali Wong and Steven Yeun, however. Itās about time the GG and Oscars got more diverse.
For you JAW fans
Hah, yeah I found the Xmas episode super uncomfortable (I would have left) and the ending was a bit weird. As someone pointed out the cooler would have definitely had a handle on the inside per safety rules. But hey donāt want to quibble. Beef just sounds like a nightmare to meā¦I loved Succession and really happy that Tom Wambsgans won (love you Matthew M) and Kieran and Sarah Snook got recognized. Sorry, Jeremy āIām the eldest sonā Strong. We canāt all go home winners.
Eh, heās raked in a lot of awards for his role in years past, including a Golden Globe and an Emmy. (I juat want J. Smith Cameron to win some.)
My favorite episode too. Yeah Christmas dinner episode was over the top, but I thought Jamie Lee was fabulous. I liked Beef, would of liked a better ending.
As I mentioned, I enjoyed the first season of The Bear, but have avoided the second because of all the warnings about how traumatic some episodes are. Would it work to watch some, but avoid other episodes, maybe with a respected online recap for that episode and if so, which ones would you watch, and which would you avoid?
No, watch them all, if I can take it so can you. I liked season 2 better than 1 as it gave each individual character their own episode.
Same!
Thanks, and I know I can ātake itā, it just doesnāt seem like ātaking itā is what Iāve been looking for in television lately. Maybe real life is just about as much as I can take right now.
Iāve gotten super sensitive about violence or stress in shows and I canāt say that the Bear bothered me. Itās more about relationships and characters and some of the episodes like Forks and the episode in Copenhagen are full of charm and warmth. The Xmas episode that everyone talks about is a dysfunctional family event on steroids but I didnāt have any problem with it. Just figured in real life I probably would have bolted halfway through dinner.
