That Jar of Salted Caramel....

I am embarrassed to admit this: Someone gifted me a jar of salted caramel. Other than sprinkling some of it on top of a pie, I have no idea how to use the salted caramel. At first I thought the jar was dehydrated caramel bits, as the word “Caramel” was in much larger typeface than the word “salted”, and I added a tablespoon to a cup of coffee. I won’t make that mistake again.

What else can salted caramel be used for/in? TIA!!

Top ice cream with it, use some to make ice cream (like swirls).

Is it hard or soft? Chonks? Sprinkles? Creamy?

Pour onto, or mix into, or incorporate into the base of ice cream (if you make your own).

Learn how to temper chocolate, make choc covered caramel.

Use as filling for sandwich cookies, macarons, between cake layers.

Mix into buttercream frosting for said cake.

Brownies or Blondies. Pour half the batter into the pan, dollop with the caramel sauce. Top with remaining batter, bake as usual.

drizzle over brie cheese - a little “old fashioned” but I do love warm brie with caramel and fruit/nuts.

Perhaps you could post a Photo of the Product or a more detailed Description?

It is very fine granules, almost salt like in appearance. The granules are a pale pink-very light brown in color.

Made by Danbury- Ingredients are golden granulated sugar, salt, caramel flavor, and sunflower oil according to the label. Like I said, I added it to coffee because I thought it was dehydrated caramel bits. It isn’t and the 1 sip of coffee tasted awful.

Interesting! The consistency looks almost like … brown sugar. Salted brown sugar, I guess

I appreciate everyone’s suggestions. It looks yummy in the jar, I just didn’t know what to do with it. It definitely has more of a salt taste.

Too salty. Maybe add it to pretzels?

Ah! I love chocolate, salt, and pretzels! I can also see making a milk chocolate, or more recently discovered “dark milk chocolate” bark!

I would use it like a finishing Salt, not incorporated into Baked Goods.
Sprinkle it on top of Cookies, Brownies etc. before Baking (bet Oatmeal Cookies would love that!)
If you want to use on Pretzels I would use mixed with Pretzel Salt , so not in them but on them.
