It doesn’t necessarily matter to me as I try to act as if everyone is positive but this is an updated list of Shop Rite stores that have employees who’ve tested positive. Do other stores do this?
Finally was able to get someone on the phone at Livotti’s Aberdeen to find out my order was in fact ready. It was supposed to be done yesterday. I had to immediately toss the chicken nuggets for my kid that weren’t even cool (supposed to be frozen) and I’m now nervous about all of the meat that I bought. Pretty frustrating experience all in all.
Just returned from WLB Shoprite.
The good- Bob’s Red Mill on sale. Not too crowded and seemed pretty organized. People stayed out of each other’s way. The parking lot is still great to ride the cart to your car. So smooth!
The bad- gaping holes, probably because of the holidays. None, or extremely limited, tomatoes, mayo, eggs, chicken, paper prod, evap milk…the list goes on. A bad time to go if you are stocking up.
OOOOF. Hopefully you can get through and tell them.
I sent an email. I get this is an extraordinary time but don’t offer something and are too overwhelmed to be able to get it done. Ok, I’ll stop ranting now.
I think it’s nice of them to do but I agree, I act as if everyone is positive. There is no way to know exactly who you come across is infected so the less interactions the better.
Costco in Ocean is closed today because of a power outage.
that’s really messed up. I was thinking of placing order there- but that won’t happen now. I get its an extraordinary time and they are working hard for a new service for customers. However, basic food safety doesn’t go away… I’m sure they are overwhelmed, but they either need a better system or to pause orders, getting a bunch of people sick from spoiled food isn’t going to help matters.
Just so you know, my mother in law has ordered a few times from the Middletown location and they have been perfectly fine. Middletown flat out told me they weren’t accepting new orders on Wednesday until today so you may want to try them. In hindsight, I probably should have just waited but oh well! Good luck!
Just went to Allaire farms to pick up an order and a Cutler Produce truck was delivering various produce
thanks- we’re closer to the Middletown location and have always loved them so thats good to hear- have had them cater stuff before and it’s always great. I just worry that they are stepping into a new space they don’t know how to manage- and stories like yours concern me; I feel like the grocery stores have had curbside/pickup going prior so they understand it a bit better.
I tried to place an order at a meat place the other day and it was a disaster, despite advertising they did curbside they had no concept of what I was talking about when I tried to order stuff. Finally punched out when it was clear it would be a sh*tshow.
I will say the dairy I picked up at Cutler was still nice and cold when I got home to check.
I’m looking at Wennings in LB- but he portions are HUGE. I’m really looking for a place to find. stuff for Easter- mozz, ricotta, fresh bread, maybe a pastry or five, etc.
@gracieggg btw -how does the Livoti’s process go? I don’t see a list/form anywhere- do you just call up and say you want curbside and just tell them the stuff you want assuming they have it in the store?
Yes, and a warning, I must have called the number no less than 30 times to get through between the past couple of days (middletown answered on the first call). No form or list so it is a little strange as you really don’t know the prices or what you will ultimately get. For example, I ordered a bag of brown rice. I should have said uncooked maybe? I got one of those bags you microwave. Be as specific as possible. I said chicken thighs and got bone in, skin on. Not the worst thing just a warning.
Tuscany on route 79 Marlboro was able to provide me with good bread, prepared food, fried chicken cutlets and various cold salads .HOWEVER , the carts are not being sanitized although the guys making sandwiches and serving the prepared foods are properly gloved. Plenty of pasta cookies and produce. I am less than a mile from them so I wasn’t interested in any type of delivery. Looks like I can avoid the Wegmans & Shop Rites of the area but has anyone been to the Net Cost (Russian supermarket in Manalapan? BTW I was able to get paper towels at CVS on Ryan rd and 79.
I did a Restaurant Depot pickup order in Neptune yesterday morning and was happy with the process. I ordered and paid online and called them when I arrived at my pickup time. The rolled out the cart with my order about 10 minutes later. The guy was wearing mask and gloves. (I was wearing mask, gloves, goggles and a disposable hat)
I got 31 of the 34 items I ordered which I felt was pretty good. They didn’t have carrots, escarole or heavy cream. I was able to get a couple boxes of nitrile disposable gloves and a case of bleach which was nice. There is no extra charge for the service although I tipped the guy that assembled the order and brought it out.
Ha! I wondered how they were getting some of the items listed on their site! You know they’re not growing bananas there…
thanks so much for this -I might still put in order for Middletown- as I am also shopping for family and they area adamant they want Livotis. The process was confusing to me.
I went to Fine Fare yesterday in Long Branch at about 4:15. Place was fairly quiet. Produce was well-stocked. Plenty of garlic. Gorgeous fresh herbs. They had single rolls of toilet paper for .79 cents each (no-name brand). I was not enticed by their meats. Didn’t see any seafood (wanted frozen shrimp). I got the last of the Hellmann’s mayo. Plenty of bread, milk, eggs. Land O’Lakes butter on sale for $2.99. Goya canned vegetables were wiped out.
Carts weren’t wiped between customers, if at all. No distancing rules posted or enforced. Grocery stockers had gloves and masks on. Checkout clerk had mask on but only over her mouth. She didn’t have gloves on. I brought my own bags, intending to bag my own, but she took my bags and helped me to bag. Surprised at the amount of customers who had no gloves or masks.
headed to Foodtown yesterday to pick up bread/dessert for Easter and to stock up on items as I’m increasingly worried my Foodtown order for Thur will be late/canceled/heavily missing items based on what I’m reading on FB and other spots.
Of course Foodtown RB was closed at 1:30; needing a few items with urgency I made the stupid mistake of heading to ShopeRite- hey it’s almost early dinner time on Easter- nobody will be out - I can just pop in and be quick.
BIG MISTAKE…
nobody out front monitoring crowd size, ZERO cart sanitizing. Almost nobody was practicing social distancing, dodged people in my personal space like it was HS dodgeball class all over over again.
Many people not putting masks on until they get into store. they even let in a cpl of without masks who spent the whole time sans masks while shopping.
To top it all off, the shelves were hit hard- no beans, pasta lots empty, no organic milk at all, yogurt/shredded cheese/hot dogs bare/eggs.
Once I got the basic items we were 100% in need I figured I’m already here and ran through a few aisles to get whatever I could think of quickly.
Of course self checkout nobody was practicing distancing -including the two people without masks who nobody in the store stopped them at any point. I left the self checkout Line while this two morons were using it.
Needless to say that will be my last trip to ShopeRite for months. A total and utter Shitshow.
