Yes, definitely lentils are great. That soup looks hearty and comforting

Honestly I had go with something comforting but simple like pasta, stir-fry, or a favorite soup—just scaled down. You still get the satisfaction without overdoing it.

Yes I do especially in soups where it gets tender and slightly sweet. A bread bowl sounds like a great way to serve it too.

Lentils are a good source of protein without adding much fat.

Cabbage is a nutrient rich (low calorie) food that I find filling when I’m dieting.

For me, I add in an extra walk or two or three (during the week) and a couple extra miles on the bicycle to aid in weight loss.

I pretty much do all of my grocery shopping by bicycle. I’ve upcycled an old kid’s bicycle trailer into a cargo trailer for my big grocery shopping. It’s actually quite fun!!

Losing?

You may have an issue processing carbs, if so avoid bread and pasta. Research low carb diets if you have a problem processing carbs.

Fish protein, sautéed veggies.

4 oz pan roasted salmon, 2 cups assorted steamed vegetables.

The strictist: only protein and lots of green veggies. Avoid potatoes, rice, wheat, corn, barley, legumes. Nothing with sugar, honey or maple syrup. Or…eat in moderation, one bite only of each healthy offering. Get a carb/protien/fat/fiber booklet and write it down.

If you are just looking to lose weight, just eat less.

Doesn’t matter what you eat, just eat less of it.

Now, if you want to talk about other things like certain health markers (cholesterol, heart health, etc.) in addition to losing weight, then both what you eat and how much of it you eat matters.

But if all you care about is the number on the scale going down, then just reduce your calories.

Yes, you are correct. I didn’t have a picture (on my hard drive) of my cabbage soup served in a standard bowl.

But yes, I’ve served this cabbage soup in a standard bowl – when trying to lose weight.

I make bread bowls from time to time – just to make “soup night” a little more fun.
