I’m having a similar struggle with my bucket-list kitchen appliance: a compressor-model ice cream maker. The footprint makes it too large to keep anywhere in the kitchen; I’d be willing to keep it and use it in the basement, but the compressor models don’t have all removable parts like my cheap Cuisinart does, which would make cleaning the machine in the basement (no running water) really inconvenient.

I had a microwave on a cart in my Queens apartment, until I renovated the kitchen and greatly increased my countertop space.

Which model do you have ? We had a Lello one which produced much better (creamier etc) ice cream as a regular canister based machine but was unfortunately quite prone to technical issues and at some point wasn’t worth repairing anymore but still sometimes thinking about a new one
I don’t have one yet - it’s #1 on my wish list - because of my space constraints. (And also because choosing which one to buy is impossible.)
