Stalk borer in my tomato plants?

They arrive every year and
I believe that they are the Japanese beetle.
Will confirm once they arrive.
P.S.
It works well for indoor and outdoor plants.
Just be careful not to inhale the mixture that cayenne is nasty and will make you cough.

Yuck! My sister had those. They don’t seem to be a problem where I am in NorCal…yet.

They’re a pain in the butt. And the larvae are pretty gross, too. I think the beetles actually drill through potting soil bags and lay their eggs in it, so you decide to do some potting up, and SURPRISE! when you dig a shovelful into the pot. I had one several years ago fly right into the side of my nose, which isn’t that big.
