I don’t know if it gives you more, but (according to Sunshine) it is easier for an individual with only one working hand to eat a diagonal cut sandwich.

I’m slowly getting to where I have enough strength to lift my arm a little higher, which makes eating, holding and cutting foods much easier. I no longer require to be fed by my PIC — a huge milestone after the age of 50 ![]()
You and she will figure out the best way to do things over time!
So far… so good. Everything I’ve served so far can be fork cut or spoon fed with one hand.
Tonight Sunshine gets to play King Henry VIII and eat a chicken leg in a similar fashion to the King’s turkey leg. We’ll see how that goes.
We’ll know more on the 11th - first post-op check up.
Her pain has been minimal with only a few motrin pills being consumed, I’m hoping that is a good sign.
