I have a love-hate relationship with GS cookies. Love the cookies. Hate that they’re up to USD7 in my area (I understand some regions’ prices vary). Still, I will never tell a GS “no” if she asks if I want to buy some. I’ve been there, and I know how hard it is for a kid to work up the nerve the first few times. Plus, I’ll always order 3-4 boxes from any GS that comes to my door.
There used to be an enterprising GS who would set up a table out of the back of the family SUV on the exit road leaving the ski resort where I work. She did a land sale business when the lifts shut down, because there was usually a line of cars moving at a snail’s pace trying to get out to the main highway. Haven’t seen her in a few years, so I guess she aged out of GS.
Also, a friend claims that the local Dollar General stores frequently sell off-brand cookies that look and taste exactly like several GS cookies for a buck-and-a-quarter per box.

I haven’t seen this called chocolate lasagna in Canada.
It’s basically a variation on sex in a pan, which is common in some parts of Canada and the States.
