I stand with Uncle Roger.
My mom needs this (US version) for any time she wants to complain of things being too expensive, and they really aren’t (it’s more inflation over 40 yrs!). Hey classic is always telling me how a fine is still money and that McDonald’s small french fries used to be 10 cents and a burger was xx cents.
When I first got to high school a McD’s hamburger was 24 cents - a quarter including tax. They tasted better then. grin I’m sure that part is me. Regardless, I still eat a Big Mac once every two or three years. Nostalgia.
Yeah, Limburger is stinky. But taste-wise I prefer Munster stinky. The partner can’t be in the same room when I eat Munster. One mask won’t be enough. The more stinky the cheese the better the taste (sometimes). Raw milk, super ripe Munster is simply one of the best cheeses.
Soon after Medium-sized H and I moved in together, I bought some Hooligan cheese, which I absolutely love, and which I’m guessing you would enjoy as well. Medium-sized H has a very keen sense of smell. And he does not like stinky cheese. At all. I was in the living room watching tv and eating my cheese when he came home. He made it about five feet into the apartment, turned around and walked out again, and texted me that I should let him know when I had finished my cheese and aired the place out.
He’s gotten somewhat more tolerant. Somewhat.
The crust looks very much like Limburger and Munster. Is it on the firmer side? The other 2 are quite soft. Munster doesn’t hold its shape when very ripe.
Stinky cheese is good for the guts, too!
It’ll spread out, but it won’t run.
I feel that way about the smell of popcorn.
Yeah, I could see that. I like the smell of popcorn, but it is sort of…inescapable.
I have an excuse. In high school I was on our literary magazine staff. We sold popcorn three afternoons a week after school and at every sporting event. Three years of scrubbing one of the old hot oil poppers completely turned me off to popcorn.
Related: marrying the ketchups at the Roy Rogers in Monmouth Mall took its toll on me, but I regained my taste for it after a while.
Did you ever have one blow up? I’ve read about those but never seen one.
No, we used plastic squeeze bottles. Worst case scenario would be a geyser, I guess, but that never happened.
One cantaloupe has a nice smell. Hauling a 4x4x4 bin full of them in the back of the van back from Leola for a friend on a hot day completely put me off cantaloupe. God what a stink.
Anyone old enough to remember prices in the 60’s? 90 cents for 10lbs of sugar!
Rubbish bins in Norway have this thing on the outside for empty tins and bottles so homeless or poor people don’t have to dumpster dive to retrieve them.
Not everyone can afford a whole bottle of booze there
This is probably in Turkey? Sometimes I do see this kind of honey sold in Turk markets here.
I’ve seen this before, but always funny.
