SFGate: Bourdain imprint to publish James Syhabout’s Hawker Fare cookbook

The Hawker Fare cookbook — Syhabout’s first — will include recipes from his Oakland and San Francisco restaurants, cooking tips, as well as personal stories about growing up in a Laotian immigrant neighborhood in Oakland.

The Bay Area chef is partnering with local James Beard Award-winning food writer (and occasional Chronicle contributor) John Birdsall on a cookbook.
