Serveware - Environmental?

Just eating at a restaurant and got me thinking. Some restaurants use paper plates, some use plastic plates and some use ceramic.
Paper plates seem wasteful and slowly contribute to landfill but paper plates save water (and heat if we talk about warm or hot water). Ceramic plates are relative long lasting but it can break and it requires repeat washing.
What do you thinking? My guess is that paper plates and bowls…are more environmental friendly.
I still have ceramic bowls and plates at home

Do you recall the fad of coffeeshops charging slightly less if a customer brought their own re-useable cups? The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Until such time as the entire life cycle of making/supplying/serving/cleaning/recycling becomes carbon-neutral, I’m not sure it makes much difference.

No. But I do remember a coffees chain encourage to talk about race.
