Who makes your favorite salads?
I had a nice salad at Osteria Alba in Little Italy a few weeks ago.
Nice. In TL’s best new restaurants list. We recently tried one from Mandy’s and didn’t think it was worth the “gourmet” markup. What was the price there?
$27 for the Insalata Alba at Osteria Alba. It’s big, too. Much better value than Mandy’s.
It’s amazing to me that a popular Fast Casual chain food salad costs almost the same as a a big salad at a nice upscale restaurant.
Well technically a salad as I get it with zucchini noodles. Mihito bowls are pretty good I picked up one earlier in the weekend.
Just a dizzying amount of ingredients for 22$
Salad Bowl Custom
Zucchini Noodles
Pickled Lotus Root
Shredded Crab Meat
Sweet Tofu
Edamame
Shitake Mushroom’
Unagi (Eel)
Spicy Mayo (Gluten-Friendly)
Tempura Bits
Green Onions
Tobiko
Fried Onions
Roasted Seaweed
I enjoy it a bit for a lighter meal
Wow those look amazing.
I love the pantheon salad at Pantheon which is so simple but it hits the spot when I feel like something fresh and green. I would never make it at home because … dill … It’s like glitter. ![]()
We are always up for a good salad. Some ones we have enjoyed so far this year:
Green Goddess Salad at The Comrade: gem lettuce, jicama, green apple, ricotta salata, cilantro, breadcrumb.
Green Goddess Salad at Better Half: baby gem, iceberg, radicchio, ricotta salata, crispy onions, green goddess dressing.
Green Goddess Salad at The Frederick: crisp greens, creamy green goddess dressing, marcona almonds, cucumber, dill, chives, Macedonian feta, quinoa, and watermelon radish.
Beetroot Salad at The Dorset: beets, burnt citrus vinaigrette, bitter lettuce, sumac labneh, pumpkin seeds.
Octopus salad at Joso’s: greens, Dalmatian potato salad, onion, garlic oil, vinaigrette.
Kale Salad at Grey Gardens: kale, gouda shavings, pumpkin seed, crispy onion and mustard vinaigrette, nigella seeds, sunflower seeds, and radicchio.
Eggplant Salad at Belle Isle: steamed eggplant (quartered strips, served cold), red pepper soy, pickled garlic
Duck Salad at Lunch Lady of Saigon: caramelized duck breast, cabbage, banana blossoms, Vietnamese coriander, peanuts, crispy shallots and vermicelli, ginger chili vinaigrette.
I love the Comrade. I need to revisit.
Nice list!
