Breakfast cookies are usually like a oatmeal or granola in cookie form so full of oats, dried fruit and nuts. They can be pretty tasty depending on the recipe. I’ve only ever made them at home.

I always had considered Oatmeal Raisin the most breakfasty of all regular cookie options. The breakfast cookie usually looks like a thicker version of oatmeal raisin with more fibre added.

I see a lot of breakfast cookies at the coffee shops, but I’ve never been tempted to buy one because I’m usually in the mood for a muffin or a cinnamon bun for breakfast, if I’m getting something baked and sweet at a coffee shop.

Well I think I reported on the breakfast cookies from neo they tasted like chopped up cork (I know because I had to pull out a cork or two from wine/Belgian beer bottle at trying times :birthday::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Boy that sounds like a poorly made breakfast cookie. I’m sorry you had to endure that.

I also would not buy a breakfast cookie. If I’m at a bakery it’s going to be a treat and that’s gooey, pillowy and downright decadent.

Hmmm not a total loss. Last time I took it for someone who’s vegan and they enjoyed it go figure

As long as they enjoyed its all good. A good sweet brekkie cookie needs to have decent quality chocolate chips and nuts and seeds. But I’ve made savoury south Asian inspired ones with either curry or chaat masala. :joy:

BAH! Now I need an oatmeal raisin cookie. Damn I miss my mother’s baking.

Ended up picking up the matcha cookie from loewe pop up at Holt Renfrew. Went similar to neo coffee (larger and with the raspberry in the center) though elevated a bit (both price 6$ and size) so if you like that taste profile give them a try.
No lineup today

Had a promo on one of the delivery apps for pickup orders so had to use it at Laduree
Petit Gâteau Praliné described as Hazelnut almond biscuit, praline mousse, melting hazelnut heart, milk chocolate glaze, caramelized hazelnut
Good stuff and the hazelnut actually tastes like it’s supposed to and not Nutella (gasp!)
Picked up a couple of others regular items as well for tomorrow Alas the St honore isn’t sold at Yorkville location

Today feeling like fall weather I decided to walk on the Yonge Wellesley area. Picked up a couple of eclairs (earl grey and matcha) from bloom (I recall they had a different name before) good stuff and their matcha desserts are top notch like before.
P.S. also spotted scones at le Cafe at four seasons will pickup and try soon

Picked up the mango passion fruit from Le Cafe at four seasons. Very buttery and the filling is a bit sweeter though expected. Went well

Ordered from marvelous by Fred (Aux Merveilleux de Fred)
Individual Impensable (Coffee)
And
250g Chocolate Cramik Brioche
The impensable was very good with a light meringue and delicate filling. Will order again.
Brioche wasn’t marvelous (pun intended) good filler item imo. Unfortunately the benchmark for moi plain croissant was sold out

I’ve been happy with everything I’ve bought at Bomou in Rosedale and on Bayview.

I haven’t been to Thuet in ages.
