It will be a great success and after it’s over, I hope you get at least four days off to do whatever you want, including off from work (allergy symptoms are sick days)!
You are amazing! Your baking is amazing!

The soup was not defrosted, which I found out when I was rounding up the containers to take down to the church. I dropped one and it broke open on the kitchen floor (plastic container.) The defrosted soup spilled all over the floor; the frozen soup stayed in the busted container.
7:53: Going to make a Kentucky butter cake now. I considered serving the busted almond cake with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, but…
Tonight I also need to do a lot of chicken salad prep.
I am having some wine on your behalf
You are doing great!
I was JUST about to start mixing the kentucky butter cake when I remembered I don’t have any baking spray.
The reason I don’t is because I had bought a generic brand of baking spray for the first time the other day, thinking I might be able to save some money, and that’s the spray I used for the failed almond cake. So that can went into the trash, and I needed more. Just ran to the store for it.
I predict I will have the KBC in the oven by 9.
Go @mig go!! We are all cheering you on!!!
alright. it’s in.
Godspeed mig!
I would so happily take a slice of that cake. But I understand not wanting to serve it for this special occasion.
I just ate a big slice.
Great flavor, but borderline wet, and the glaze didn’t crystallize. It’s crazy humid here today; guess this wasn’t meant to be!
That churro Bundt is a beauty!
Oh that must have hurt: as you know I have mangled many cakes taking them out of the pan!!
Gorgeous
10:04: oven is off.
Sleep well - you’ve earned it!
I’ve had this kind of accident before several times. It’s stressful to deal with, especially if it drops on someone’s body, like mine from our basement freezer, or in other situations when you have to spend time cleaning up! Best wishes!
Thanks. I had five containers, and one lost maybe 20% of its volume, so that’s the good news. The bad news is carrot puree is VERY staining, so I was really worried about the floor. I guess in the daylight tomorrow I’ll know the truth!
I understand this is an important special occasion and wanting it all to both look great as well as to taste great.
If it works for you and for the occasion, this kind of accidental results is absolute proof that all of these very special treats were homemade, with much preparation and and planning and care, by a very loving daughter in honor of mothers, her own as well as others.
