Pour House / Sitting Duck Tinton Falls

Funny you say that. We usually hit up at 5 to 6 and it’s railed. Went this time at 8 or so and it was much less
Crowded. Good to know

Well I’ll say it again, it’s official the pour house burger is better than bb. Had BB tonight and it was not nearly as good as the PH. No charred flavor at all, PH is running away with it.

I’m a huge fan of Barnacle Bill’s, but I’ve only been a patron for two years. I don’t know what burgers tasted like “back in the day”.

However, I do wonder if their crowd and sheer volume has anything to do with this alleged dip in quality. Any night I’ve been there, I’ve had a chance to watch the grill (hell, I’ve waited an hour on a Monday for goodness sake). They crank out an ungodly amount of burgers. The guy at the grill never stops. I was there on a Saturday last month, and they went through two enormous cases of burgers while I was there, and those cases hold a lot! Its burger after burger after burger over there.

Is it the actual burger itself (no excuses there) or the attention to detail/cooking time?

another great burger meal at PH last weekend. Love the burger there. may or may not also have had an order of chicken fingers myself too…
Someone had the Vegas salad there -first time I’d heard of it- seemed to be a big hit as well.

Place was filled to the rafters as usual.

Love that burger too, with the cheese sauce AND american. And maybe a controversial take: I always ask for it on a kid’s bun, not on the kaiser. I just find that there is too much bread with the kaiser and it takes away from the beef and cheese goodness.

As someone who guts buns and/or only eats the flatter half, I LOVE this option!

Well I can’t really believe I just had the steak of steaks at the sitting duck of all places. I had a crap dinner last night at the china buffet so this one made up for that.

I got an end cut and this was just phenomenal…seasoned, nice and medium rare, and freaking huge! The center cut my uncle got didn’t hold a candle to this monster. I lucked out…oh and yeah I got veggies instead of a potato for my keto type diet. I tried to show how thick that slab was in the second pic but it doesn’t really do it justice.

And it was what, $22 with soup AND salad AND your sides? Can’t beat their prime rib special!! Glad it made up for last night. Surprised you could get an end cut medium rare! Niceeeee

Yeah I was very surprised since you cant ask for temp on the end cuts. This piece would have passed for a delicious cut at a higher end steak house easily (the steak itself, not things like presentation with the tiny two butter packets sitting on top of the veggies lol.) “Stand alone” the steak was completely on point. I was very happy and full.

And yes, for 20.99 the salad is a nice addition and the Manhattan was also a great cup of soup. I’m pretty sure this was the unicorn of prime rib. Unfortunately I dont think I will see one like this again there. I will try though.

That is some beautiful THICC MEAT!!

The thing was that it was the trifecta. It was big, awesome temp for my liking, and tasty. The three factors all came together which is rare…and for 20.99 with salad and soup. I am going to try and replicate this next wednesday but I have a feeling it won’t come close. I’m simply just not lucky enough to get that in my life once a week. Haha!

My theory is that we showed up late where they were getting down to the last loin or so, and the cook just cut me off a monster piece to get rid of it.

had the filet mignon tacos last night for first time (with all sauce, cheese, etc removed for one person in group) - they were really great; even with legit no sauce, cheese, etc…great flavor to steak. Def one to add to rotation.

I often get the skirt steak tacos, which are on the specials menu as an appetizer. Fantastic. Enough for dinner and leftovers to boot! I noticed the filet mignon version and was curious. So thanks!

yeah- really good, not a huge portion, but given the cut in question it makes sense. really good new dish there.

Went to the Pour House again. I forgot I had liked the Salmon Teriyaki last time, and got the Pan Seared Codfish Rabe. Okay, but nothing special. (I am starting to find most teriyakis both too sweet and too salty.) The pasta in the White Bean Soup was mushy. Mark did like their burger, but overall it was a disappointment.

got burger and fries here last week- forgot post- was great as usual.

Would love start branching out from just the burger here. I need to reread this thread to see what else is good prime rib, dumplings, French onion soup to start).

Manhattan chowder is my “go to” soup there and soup and salad come with dinners.

Garden salad is my go to salad with a dinner and I like their blue cheese.

I would highly recommend their blended burger that is on special with different toppings. I believe you can just ask for that burger and they will customize it for you if you don’t like the toppings that day. It is a blend of brisket, chuck and short rib. Try this!

I was there last night, (Pour House) met my daughter at 6:45pm and we sat at the bar. Had the roasted clams (happy hour price) then she had the Momma Mia special (shrimp, chicken, sausage over pasta) I had the chicken kebab and I took a teriyaki salmon home for Mrs. NotJr. All in all it was a solid meal.

Hey you aren’t going to PH/SD for anything “gourmet”, it’s nothing more than well prepared comfort food, but you could easily make any of their dishes at home. The burgers are well above average as are several of their dishes, but still it’s just good ole’ comfort food.

I was in the other night for dinner (PH) and had the Yankee pot-roast. Very tender and tasty. I usually follow the specials but this was really special.
