Please throw me your best chocolate chip cookie recipe

I made this recipe for my 7th grade teachers for Christmas one year. I burned them and probably made other errors.

Were any salvaged??? Was that the only run for this recipe?

One and only. I gifted them anyway:rofl:No waste in our family. I think it was the nuts that were burned :rofl::rofl:

Attempt #6 Giant Crinkle Cookies

These were quite successful. The texture is excellent. I made half 100g cookies (bottom) and half 50g cookies; I realize they look the same - two different size baking sheets. The ratio of white to brown sugar is off (I ran out of white), so they are a little too sweet. Another thing I need to do is mix the chips in by hand (not by KitchenAid) for a more even distribution. These are fixes I can do in the final version. It’s between these bad boys and the King Arthur right now. I might take another shot at the browned butter ones and try to have the courage of my convictions this time.

These might be the new front runner. I just ate one big and one small one (for research!) and might need to take a nap.

I gave them away already. Hopefully the recipients will appreciate the slightly aged version.

booooo

I would pick these 50g crinkle cookies out of a lineup. The top pair looks like something that could be used as a prop to teach kids about cell division (I mean this as a positive comment) - I bet they would be very motivated to learn if it involved these cookies.

This is the pan banging lady’s recipe, right?
Did you bang the pan?
They look good! Now I want a cookie.

My concern about “tomorrow” is crunch. Almost all cookies taste better but a lot of them also get a bit softer. I think for @small_h this could be a consideration with regard for what to optimize for, i.e. making the cookies the day before the event, or waiting until day of. Maybe I’m overthinking it

I am of course making a new batch tomorrow.
