Hi all! I have 4 pig tails going in my slow cooker at the moment. They have the skin on (and are well cleaned). Should I be able to throw them into a 550F oven after to crisp the skin? Seems like that would work…
Thanks!

Seems logical. I have eaten them (with great enjoyment!) but never prepared them.
I had amazing pig tails sold as “pork wings” at a German place in Philly many years ago. They never were back on the menu again
This is so reminds me of “Little House on the Prairie.” Didn’t they just grill the $#!t out of the tails over an open fire and the kids clamored for them? Even as a non-meat eating kid, I found it fascinating. (I think they played with the bladder, like a ball?)
Yeah, the recipe says to grill them over a fire, but it is barely 20F right now, so that’s not happening! I’d put them under the broiler, but I don’t want to risk a fire.
There’s an episode of A Cook’s Tour where they give the kids a blown up bladder to play with while the adults tackle breaking down a pig IIRC.
