Pesto and hummus

This may be reinventing the wheel, but I haven’t seen it before. I was making pasta with pesto and sauteed salami, to use up the latter components before they spoiled. I had intended to add a bit of light cream, until I remembered that I also had a partial container of balsamic caramelized onion hummus. So instead of cream, I used a dollop of hummus roughly the same amount as the pesto. It made for an unctuous and tasty sauce.
