Oven (mis)calibration?

We had a Samsung electric oven that I intentionally miscalibrated to bake pizza hotter. Are you sure there isn’t an end user calibration setting?

I generally recommend using the convection fan, and then lowering the temp like @Babette has mentioned. Unless you have specific requirements for the bottom or top of of your dish.

I have a gas oven with a fan, which is helpful as the heat is only coming from down below where the flames are.

Yes, I read the owner’s manual and there is only one mention of calibration - it basically says the oven is perfectly calibrated, so don’t ask about calibrating it. However, I could ‘permanently’ program a temperature offset.

My GE cafe gas stove/oven always ran slow/low at the lower temps, below about 400.

On mine I can bump everything by as much as 35 degrees by holding the bake and broil buttons at the same time, to get into the calibration menu. (Can adjust by 5s from -35 to +35F)
