Outdoor grill covers

Hi, everyone, hope everybody is doing well. All good here.

I am in the market for a grill cover for our 65 inch propane grill that’s worth a darn. Here’s the thing, there is a cover for the grill up at the Lake Erie family place that’s super thick and the party that purchased it has no idea where they got it or what brand because “it was so long ago”, and I’m like, that’s exactly why I want one. They think maybe Home Depot but Home Depot has nothing like it now. The only thing they could show me was the tag on the inside that says, Made in China, 100% polyester with thermoplastic polyurethane (thick lining) and 100% polyester mesh (durable outer cover). This particular cover is like a brown and taupe or brown and tan/khaki. I have yet to see a grill cover of this quality and durability without any damage after this time. It’s at least 3/16" thick, husband thinks 1/4". I can’t find anything and Amazon and Walmart and Google keep giving me the same cheap results. I ordered a Unicook and it looks like it’s going to rip first gust of wind based on the feel. I called a couple of local places in town that sell upscale outdoor items and they either don’t carry or only have Traeger and Big Green Egg covers.

Does anyone know where to find a super thick polyurethane lining/polyester mesh grill cover like this anywhere? It doesn’t have to be brown. Has anyone actually seen or purchased this cover and can they tell me more about it?

Thanks!

How about something like this? We have a similar one for our pellet smoker, same Camp Chef brand, and it is pretty durable.

And generally take a look at smoker covers, they seem heavier duty.

Thanks for the input, Christina. It doesn’t look like Camp Chef makes a 65 inch standard grill cover. Not sure the thickness of it either. Glad it’s holding up for you. I imagine nobody makes a thick one anymore because they want you to buy it every year or two.

This would get you close, maybe? Camp Chef Apex 24 Grill Cover | Cabela’s https://share.google/xpCfWbxm5Dj7PNKnA

I also saw that coverstore.com has a lot of options.

Thanks, Christina, I don’t know how I couldn’t find that size before. Also, for the other link and will investigate more. I’m going to take a photo of this cover to try to depict the thickness of it next time I’m there, it’s impressive.

So basically the complete opposite of our Weber grill cover?

Urgh.

Wait a minute, I thought you said your cover was pretty durable! LOL!

It’s better than none, which is what we’ve been for the past several months because they’re all terrible, save the unknown origin one at the lake. We’re so frustrated with the covers.

The Camp Chef one on my smoker is. The Weber cover is trash though.

Okay, thanks for the clarification! :grinning:
