A fellow HO just posted an old menu on another thread. I like seeing the description of the plate and more importantly the prices back then. Found this online so I’ll start here.

My grandmother told me stories about 5 cent burgers at white castle. It was treat when her dad would bring home a bag of them for all the kids (they were poor immigrants.)

I believe that was me and the place was Bill Williams in Houston and we’d go back in the 60s. It was tough to decide between fried tenderloin of speckled trout or fried chicken having not yet discovered the culinary qualities of the noble oysters.

Joe Gilbert was a KC Restauranteur and the airport at that time was a stop in the middle on cross country TWA flights so all the famous folks.
The Mexican place is the very first place I can remember eating at, so 2 or so.
Not sure a place could get away with a Ladies Plate these days.
