Link for what?
Wow. Wonder if he’s going to rebrand that one or give up the ghost? They’ve been moving away from the barbq concept over last cpl years.
Curious if anyone has any info here? I’ve enjoyed the food I’ve eaten here over the years. Was a cool spot to watch a game as well. Although I’ve moved over to victory park tavern when I want a nice upscale but casual meal over there and Tommy’s is prob taking all the bar business with the expansions they’ve done
He’s working on a new concept there, says it was time for a change at Surf.
I wish I knew how to run a poll. Greek? Vegan? Thai? Korean Mexican Fusion? Place your bets.
You left out over-priced which is probably likely no matter the genre. If you can even tell the genre.
Just read about Icecreamology in Union - sounds interesting! You know I’ll be trying some of the Greek flavors…
We went to Samaha’s Thursday with our visiting friend to pick up salad fixings, etc. The produce was great, the fruit flies that came with it, not so much.
How do people avoid fruit fly infestations? (I’m pretty sure Terro Fruit Fly Traps will solve it, but I’d rather avoid it in the first place.)
Bonney Read , I liked that place
Now it will become a “ hip vibe “ bar with food called Main Sail still a James Avery place. O well another place for me not to fit in BR closes 9/30 , new place11/1 Ugh
@CurlzNJ and I were just talking about this but we didn’t know what was taking Bonney Read’s place. Thanks for the intel.
It will be The Mainstay, a more casual “bar with a kitchen,” Avery said. Menu will be more than half Bonney Read dishes. From our APP story: The raw bar is being removed to make way for more seating at a U-shaped bar. Tables and chairs will be swapped for more comfortable and conversational furniture, like couches and coffee tables. He’s adding a frozen drink machine, more TVs, a DJ, happy hours, and themed nights like the Bonney’s popular Lobster Night.
“More energy than a restaurant, but not a full-blown nightclub.”
Can’t believe I got this before @CurlzNJ WOW , doing my happy dance lol
Yeah he posted a video announcing it.
A DJ huh? Seems as if every place has one now, Bond St bar it is for me lol
HA! But I did know about it… just didn’t have all of those details, so I guess that’s why I didn’t post about it. I, for one, find it interesting that he’s going for more of a ‘club’ vibe. Not my thing, but if you’re on Cookman Ave on a Saturday night, you’ll see that Lola’s and the Ale House are making $$ with that concept.
I’m sure a night club would be great, TM is doing well with his old fogey concept But m sure the “ new “
AP would flock to it .Bond St & before that Harry’s Roadhouse had that same concept As for me I am too old for that stuff, Liked R Bar though
Yeah, RBar is terrific!
I highly recommend catching Eric Lindell at the RBar Oct 27.
Will have to take a nap as it is a 10pm show
Making sure you know you have to buy tickets!
Bought them when they first went on sale
