We ended up at Bahr’s after all. I must say, I just looked it up on HO and I did not know there was so much disdain for the place!
In any event, our meal was excellent. Though the fog literally prevented us from seeing beyond the dock, I enjoyed our experience. One of the best seafood platters I’ve ever had. Pics and full review coming in a day or two.
Either the demand is there and it will be fine or the market will be flooded and we will see some closures. I know everyone wants to be in Red Bank because it is trendy or whatever, but FIVE breweries???
This honestly reminds me of the frozen yogurt “craze” of about a decade ago, where the greater Red Bank area went from -0- frozen yogurt shops to something like 10 within a year. Obviously smaller scale but holy crap, talk about jumping on a bandwagon.
(ok so I’m a little bitter the only vodka distillery I’ve tried was the Colts Neck place and it sucked)
Okay, I just spoke to someone close to the restaurant and they said it was a total rumor. Mind if I ask where you heard it? You can message me privately.
The whole brewery thing is right up there with that acai over-priced smoothie dumped into a bowl and cost way too much things. Those places are everywhere.
This could be the start of a whole new thread: annoying and overdone “trends” . Mark sees one in all these restaurants with cutesy names-- our canonical name for this sort of place is “The Pernicious Pickle”. I should go back and look at that “Good Place” episode and see what other types were overdone. (The obvious one is coffeehouses.)
