I don’t know the brand so I have no skin in this game, but from the picture on the article (I couldn’t expand it) of the gentleman holding the pie it does look huge. If they are doing like 3 Bros. from Italy on the Seaside Boardwalk where one slice is double the size of a normal pizza slice then the pricing might make sense. Other than that the pricing is ridiculous and just another reason why despise so many places.
Marucas is same size as 3 Bros. At least the operation in Seaside is. I assume the Asbury location would follow suit. Regarding the price, it’s the boardwalk so they’ll get it.
Is it me, or is the pizza the guy is holding bigger than 24"?
A plain 24" pie for 32 dollars is a ripoff but they appear to be getting the money for it if they are opening a new spot. …or it’s a front to launder lol.
Speaking of laundering, I just started watching Ozark on netflix…cool series! I’m binge watching the hell out of this show.
enjoy season 1. Was great. 2 fell off a cliff and we gave up halfway through…
now- Cobra Kai- that was great!
The menu I posted takes a minute to load but it indicates that there are 3 sizes
12" Bar pie $12.00
18" Large $20.00
24" XLarge $32.00 $4.00 per topping
Specialty pies
$15.00
$29.00
$39.00
Plain Slice $5.00 $1.00 per topping
A large pizza is usually 14" in diameter, and an extra large 16". A 24" pizza has more than twice the area of a 16"; $32 for a 34" is equivalent to about $14 for a 16".
Let’s see if I did the math right. Dave can verify as he teaches math and is a pizza connoisseur!
For a local 13.00 16" plain I came up with about .25 cents per square inch. The 24" pizza at 32.00 came in at about 42 cents per square inch. This would equate to the larger pie being a tad over 40% higher in price. My math may be wrong so we are calling in the expert! @seal
Is it possible that the pie looked really big in comparison to what you are used to because over the last few years pizza’s have quietly shrunk a bit, at least where I came from?
I’m sorry my friend, you may be one of my favorite posters on HO, but you fail math
Your $13 16 inch pie costs about 6.5 cents per square inch and the $32 24 inch pie costs about 7 cents per square inch. Area of a circle equals pi * the radius squared and all that …
Haha! Damn. I did remember 2 pi r but forgot to square Somehow I really botched that one up. I will say math involving food does make it much more fun I was salivating trying to figure out this problem.
Yeah maybe it’s my eyes. It looks huge. I want one!
HA! I am thinking often about how money laundering is taking place (I work in financial crimes). My husband is totally sick of me talking about it. We watched Ozarks and agree with @Metsfan86. Season 2 definitely went off the rails and into some very dark things.
At least it involved PI(e)!
For or against financial crimes?
Well I just started season two. I guess I will see what’s up and maybe like it.
Metsfan, I’ll check out cobra kai. Thanks
Please be careful and don’t get caught. We’d all miss you.
The way to watch it on YouTube is sh$t but you can sign up for free month and stream the whole thing in a cpl weeks easily.
Curious on your thoughts on Ozark s2
LOL against!
So, I hate to bring this thread back around to food but …
Entenmann’s is having a contest to create a new donut. It’s easy to do and they have a $5K grand prize.
