Yes I’m a big fan of Harolds too but usually go with 4-6 people. Its a bit much for just me and my wife.

Word in AP is that Stella Marina is closing after today for renovations and that the people who own La Dolce Vita in Belmar are taking over. Rumors for now, but I’ll update as I get more concrete info.

Never had what I would call an exceptional meal there. Don’t understand it’s reputation. It would certainly be an improvement if La Dolce Vita takes it over.

Tough to bounce back from this.
Not defending the restaurant but worms in some fresh fish, and especially cod, are a thing. I thought, but don’t know for sure, that commercial freezing will kill them. Just putting it out there for the future.
Plus, extra protein!
Someone took my credit card information here a few years ago and ran up a nice bill, that I had to fight for months, management gave me no help and implied it was my fault Meals were never special but had a decent happy hour Which is where my credit card was compromised

The Grocery Outlet in Hazlet has the problem that it’s at the intersection of Rte 35 and Poole Ave, with 2 other already-established discount grocery stores at the same intersection (Lidl on the other side of Poole Ave, Aldi on the other side of Rte 35). They might have done okay with a less-saturated location.
I agree; I never managed to get to Grocery Outlet, because whenever I was near there and needed groceries, I went to Aldi. (I went to Lidl once, but it didn’t click for me.) I would have thought that having a Goodwill Store in the same strip mall might have helped Grocery Outlet, but if it did, it wasn’t enough.
Basically, Aldi and Lidl are at this point known quantities (especially Aldi, which has four stores within my general driving range), while Grocery Outlet is totally unfamiliar to people around here.
Update (or lack thereof) on the Vietnamese restaurant supposedly replacing Jin Li:
I haven’t been by the old location lately, but Googling doesn’t find “Phofessor”, “Pho Kitchen and Grill”, or “929-331-3275” in Marlboro, so clearly this isn’t there yet. (I find that “Coming Soon” usually means in geologic terms; Key Food Fresh in Matawan has been “Coming Soon” not just since Mark passed away, but since at least three years before that.)

Has anyone been to the new Lenny’s Market in Manasquan? I hadn’ t heard a word, and in the last 3 days, multiple friends have asked me about it. Lookss like they opened on 3/1. @MsBean ?

They did open 3/1, we waited a while before heading over. They have a bit of everything you could need, especially if you have a summer rental. Basic groceries, produce, cleaning supplies, charcoal, frozen food, prepared foods, highish end butcherie, bread from “North Jersey”, Batch Coffee, Muellers Bakery sweets, Shore Fresh Seafood.
It looks like the Manasquan location goes by Lenny’s Main Street Market. There are 3 locations - Pt Pleasant, Manasquan and Silverton/Toms River - it would help if the various locations cross-referenced each other.

Question for the group .Does anyone know of a restaurant that does pasta con sarde as a regular menu item?
Please no replies if “ you think blah blah does” Doing research for a friend. Must be a true version of a Sicilian classic. My research although not extensively studied has been fruitless. Please it must be a regular menu item only. Hopefully someone can provide an answer .If anyone here is Sicilian and knows any restaurants that do this classic dish in the NYC, NJ area free to help out. Movie related? Ummm maybe.
