The website makes no mention of a Special New Year Brunch but thanks for your interest
I am only looking for a place that has a special NYD brunch,

Ah…thanks for clarifying.

Ada is still working on the new spot, she told me recently. Hoping to be ready by summer.

Have you been to Sawan lately? I’ve seen several recent reviews that claim it’s really gone downhill: less rice with the orders, no spice cups, etc.

Umm… hmm. I think something has definitely changed as of a few months ago. The staff has changed and the last time I went there it took them until like an hour after opening (past 12pm) to get the buffet fully set up which means we sat there for like half an hour waiting. I think it’s like literally one guy in the kitchen. Also service was pretty terrible and not just because they’re busy. The food quality seemed slightly marginally worse but not so much that I have an issue with it.

However it looks like they added a station for Friday-Sunday which is nice. And on Friday it seems they charge you weekday price for weekend content. I don’t get a la carte enough to be able to know what the rice portion situation is. Also what do you mean by spice cups?

One of the last times I went they were generous enough to give us some free apps which is nice of them! So I can’t say they’re not trying.

Went to Neelam for buffet last Sunday dinner. They are still putting out great food, and for 22 bucks on a Sunday dinner, it’s a great value. The place was pretty packed which was really great to see. I had some issues with service, and their party room is way too cold for them to not have a space heater set up which was irritating.

I suspect what the reviewer called “spice cups” were small containers of red and green chutneys, or some such. My friends were interested in take-out, not the buffet, though the latter does sound reasonable.

We were looking for something different from the traditional Chinese food for Christmas, but it turns out their daughter really wanted Chinese.

Decades ago, Mark and I used to do Indian every Christmas – he claimed the red and green chutneys gave it that Christmas feel.

From NJ.com:

A new Italian restaurant will open in downtown Morristown this week, promising house-made pastas and contemporary cuisine. Cotto, which translates to “cooked” in Italian, is located at 90 South Street near the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

Executive Chef Jordan Petriello will lead the kitchen. He most recently served as executive chef at Il Nido in Marlboro.

The new Morristown restaurant is part of the Stirling Restaurant Group, the hospitality company behind the Stirling Tavern and the Dublin Pub in Morristown, as well as the Stirling Hotel in Stirling.
