NJ Food News

I’m on Instagram but do not follow David or his restaurants. If you do then, of course, you would have known about it.

Also, as @Oldandtired said, I often find out about a new place only when someone posts about it here. And I honestly don’t recall you posting about this deli.

In any case, it’s a moot point now.

I’ve learned in the last few years that if you’re not following your favorite restaurants, bands, comedians, etc. You’ll miss out on a lot of information, as it’s where everything gets announced/updated. It’s just the reality of 2025.

Salt creek grille in NJ is closing. Ate there not too long ago and it seemed like they were having trouble. I’m sure someone will snap up that spot. Been there a while. Mostly if we are over that way to eat it’s barnacle bills or victory park tavern these days if we want something little more upscale or quiet

They are going to have a tough time. That location has bad karma. AND what’s up with the Taylor Ham and Egg Sandwich?!?

You know I thought the same thing about that location! I understand why people keep trying there because it’s a cool old bank building, but in the 10 years I’ve lived here, nothing has stuck. As for the THES, no idea!!!

Oh well, so much for that being Aarzu

I think I may remember when is was still a bank. Isn’t that the location that Ada was thinking about opening a second place in?

They have very grandiose plans - buying the building, rooftop space, liquor license. They must be loaded. I wonder is there’s even a liquor license available in AP.

It’s gotta be PEC SPK. If some ordered Taylor Ham we knew they were a “northerner”.

Ada was supposed to be taking over the tall skinny space near Cookman Creamery that was formerly a store called Heaven, across the street from Interwoven and the garden that sits on the corner of Main St. and Cookman. I haven’t heard a peep about it if those plans have changed - have you?

Not a thing.

Aarzu has been quiet since you reached out to them. That mystery blue build where Medusa was is taking forever.

We did go to Judy’s Thursday night, someone had given us a gift certificate.

Really good food and drinks.

Weird question: Does anyone know if Whole Hog Cafe in Cherry Hill moved in the last six years? We always went there when we were at a convention in Cherry Hill, but we hadn’t been in six years, and when we went to WHC yesterday, it seemed to be in a different location on Rte 70, no longer free-standing, and looking totally different inside.

Also, they have a second location not far away.

Thanks for the location correction. That makes much more sense to me.

I haven’t heard a thing but then I haven’t been there in a while. I need to get back there soon. I will say that ll of a sudden I’ve seen a bunch of posts of Ada and the restaurant on Instagram.

Say when! I was just saying to someone that it’s been far too long since I was last there…

Thanks! I wondered if I was losing it. And none of the staff knew anything about a move, which tells you the employee turnover time.

What’s going on in Old Bridge?
Went to a party at Feast , the parking lot was full and it’s a huge lot
A Ramen restaurant was full and a new( to me) American Bistro called Modern something was packed Feast is mediocre at best but my fellow party goers said the other 2 are excellent Any one know anything about these 2 restaurant’s?Also a new Steakhouse restaurant is due to open shortly there as well.

I hope to hit Kyuramen Friday for lunch, after Costco/Aldi (just across Texas Road from it).

I just recently discovered Kyuramen when I was in Cherry Hill a couple months ago. Enjoyed my experience there. Then all of the sudden one opened up in Old Bridge. Turns out it’s a pretty big chain.

Although the name says ramen, but the menu is more like a Japanese inspired diner. I have tried the ramen and omurice. I liked the rice dish better.

Thanks, I do like Japanese food

Okay, I went to Kyuramen for lunch. I got their basic ramen (Ramen #1, with black garlic) and it was pretty good. (I’m not a ramen connoisseur by any means.) But I won’t being going back, because I’m short and Kyuramen is designed for tall people. When I was seated, the table came up to my armpits, and my chin barely cleared the top of the bowl. The combination of high tables and deep bowls made me feel like Scott Carey (the title character in THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN, for those among you not followers of 1950s SF films). Also, the booths seem to have a lot of distance between the seating and the table–again, probably better for tall people.

With tax and tip, about $23, which seems pricey to me, but I’m still stuck in pre-COVID thinking.
