Have you and Mrs. P been? If so, I’m curious to hear what you thought because I haven’t met anyone who has gone who raved or thought it was worth it.
No, we haven’t. I just saw the review on NJ Monthly and I thought the Central NJ crew might be interested.
Have you heard anything? Positive or neg? Google reviews are very good…
The first friends who went know good food and eat it around the world - but they just weren’t wowed. Since then any time I’ve been in conversation with anyone who has gone, they tend to say the same thing.
Good feedback! Thanks. We are ALWAYS on the hunt for this outside of NYC. Gahhhh!
So 2 guys who’s only experience is going out to eat open a place fly food in from half way around the world, serve you what they want and charge whatever they want and people expect it to be a hit? Guess I can readily admit that is is a place where my old man butt will not enter
Thanks @BossaNova for your verification of my post, didn’t think I was out here on my own
What is this referring to?
His liking my post. Regarding Hadaka
If you’re a coffee lover and want to try something DIFFERENT from every other coffee shop offering, you’ll have to try Steady Hand Cafe in Bradley Beach when it opens. Their approach is that of a good bartender crafting interesting cocktails, and I have to say they do a great job. Last winter there was an orange cardamom that inspired me to make biscotti with the same flavor profile!
A sign is up…! Of course, there’s no other evidence that they’re getting close to opening but that has to mean something, right?
Where is this?
I think that’s in the Hazlet strip mall where K-Mart and TGI Friday’s used to be. Now Aldi. I saw a KPot Korean BBQ sign in 2023 so surprised if it’s still not open (i.e. suggests it won’t open).
Sorry! Its on Rt 66 in Neptune near the Asbury circle. It’s at the opposite end from ShopRite, next to IHOP. And it’s been under construction/coming soon for a couple of years now.
The one in Hazlet is open. We went last week. It was a fun experience but I’d rather go to a more authentic place. I like the various kimchis and sides (there is one or two kimchis included), but bang for buck if you are hungry is solid. I want to say its like $30ish pp. It’s all you can eat for 2 hours and you just keep ordering on an ipad at your table.
So for a small eater who finds the idea of ordering on an iPad at the table repellant, this is probably a no-go?
I was in Marlboro ShopRite and bought JBJ Soul Kitchen St Louis style ribs
Excellent for what they are. First time I’ve noticed JBJ branded foods had a bunch of different items. Not of fan of JBJ’s music but I do commend him on his charitable work and try to be supportive where possible. I popped the pre cooked ribs in the air fryer and had a nice meal . Portion size was just right as was the price $9.99
Right. I wouldn’t recommend. Good for a group with big appetites. There is a server who sets you up, takes drink orders etc but you cook your own food. They will change out the grill top if you ask. Also, no reservations which I HATE.
I believe you are in the Aberdeen/Old Bridge area? We have been back to Siam Smiles in Aberdeen quite a bit lately. IMO, EXCELLENT, fast, delicious. Worth a try if you haven’t been lately. No ipads!
I probably will be trying Siam Smiles soon, since apparently Thai Thai has gone four paws to the moon (as Mark used to say). I suspect they won’t have the Larb Pad (Duck Salad) that I loved so much at Thai Thai, though.
That phrase! Ha! I’m not sure but report back on how it compares to Thai Thai. That’s out of our normal area so we have only been a handful of times.
