Barnacle Bill’s
Today at noon we are back for porch pickup!! Amidst so much uncertainty it has been amazing to hear from and see so many of our friends and the outpouring of support for our entire Barnacle’s family has been just incredible. We are happy to be serving our community during these tough times so please feel free to pick up the phone and give us a call for contactless, porch pickup!! Our days and hours are the following:
Wednesday and Thursday 3-8pm
Friday-Sunday 12-8pm
Sending our love to all of our friends and family all over the country (and world) and we can’t wait to see you all back inside!! Until then, our porch meetings will have to do! Thank you!!
Bahrs Landing is doing a “drive in” set up in their parking lot. You park, order, and they bring the food to your car with one of those vintage trays that clip on to your window. Full bar is available (though not sure how that works with an open container behind the wheel of a car!). Pretty neat idea. Waterfront dining in a crisis.
Just gonna drop this here, as they have 20% off:
Don’t forget today ( Thursday 4/16/20) is the day that many local restaurants are giving 100% of the proceeds to employees!
Order and tip even more generously today.
A Lakewood food distributor, M.V. Silveri and Sons, is now doing curbside pickup with a $75 minimum order. With a $125 minimum order they will deliver to your home. I just put in a good size order for produce, dairy, and more and am looking forward to my delivery. I’ll post again when I receive it.
Aarzu is doing takeout/delivery. Didn’t see lambchops on the curbside menu
Question for those of you who’ve been to Christine’s, maybe @NotJrvedivici or @corvette_johnny I think? (Sorry if I’m wrong here). How are portions there? Trying to decide between there and patrizias tonight for dinner. Would we be able to get away with just two dinners there and cover out little one Who’s not worlds biggest eater? Their special is three solid courses so I feel like if portions are decent there I can get away with it. The patrizias deal is pretty solid and looks like ton of food for a bit less, but fam wants chicken Milanese tonight so we’re Leaning Chef Ron’s way. They def offer more proteins at Christines
I saw that on IG but didn’t check the menu. WAH!
We are taking the 2 hour round trip to Il Nido today to pick up the family meal for $125.00. It seems like a lot of money, but there is a ton of food that will feed us for the rest of the weekend, and possibly even Monday. I left them a $25 tip. You can also order from the a la carte menu or just get various pastas ($10 a pound) and sauces ($16 a quart).
Happy you can support them, Eli! I have to say that many of the restaurants’ family meals are incredible bargains. The $75 I spent for Sami’s dinner last week definitely had enough food for 6, not the advertised 4–not a complaint! That said, one friend who lives south of me did a prime rib dinner for $33 last week and was extremely disappointed by the quality and portions. Guess it just depends on where you get it from. I know YOUR meals will be fantastic–enjoy!
I called Shanghai Bun Saturday and while they answered, when I asked if they were doing take-out, the woman said, “Another week,” which I assume means some time around May 1.
So I called Sichuan Cottage, who are still open, and got Noodles with Meat Sauce Beijing Style, Spicy Beef Casserole, Double Sauteed Chicken with Leek, and Mapo Tofu ($60 including tip). So far we have had the first two (and there are leftovers of those); I recommend the casserole, but the noodles are not as good as those with hot peanut sauce (YMMV). We’re spacing the dishes out. Next time we’ll have the other two (again with leftovers), and then finish off the leftovers for a couple more meals. (And we have also replenished our brown rice supply!)
All hail Sichuan Cottage!
Portions at Christine’ are pretty generous as they should be given the price point. I think you would be fine.
saw this and immediately thought of @gcaggiano
Ha! Just saw this on their Facebook.
All Monmouth County in one convenient place
But incomplete–it doesn’t list Sichuan Cottage (which I went to last Saturday) or Jinli, or Rinconcito (whose website indicates they are open for take-out).
