That’s why I said almost
(Also, there are things I don’t use with certain staining ingredients, like turmeric and chilli powder, that are perfectly fine with everything else!)

I got a fancy olive oil/vinegar set. I’m most excited it came with two quality pour spouts so I can just refill with my pedestrian olive oil when they run out.

Nice gifts all! Here’s some of mine.

Also some zatar and West Coast Bay from Oaktown Spice Shop, and Castelvetrano olives from Berkeley Bowl.

My stepmother is a talented seamstress who specializes in making certain things from coordinating cotton prints, which she has a real eye for. Part of her repertoire is reversible aprons in a retro cut (with pockets on both sides!), and I specifically requested that she use dark colors on mine because I am hard on aprons.

Big fan of Oaktown Spice Shop. Their goods are fresh and high quality.

I received a gift certificate for a local company that delivers high-quality prepared meals, and a box of dark chocolates from Leonidas. I have a feeling a cookbook or two might still be coming my way, but we shall see.
