For those for whom this might be an option.
Congratulations to all the Dry January folks! For me at least, since I donāt generally drink during the week, Iāve got another 6 days.
Checks out
Do you think he understands the damage he is doing to his liver??
Thatās a satirical site, Ć la the Onion.
I didnāt realize it was Feb. For some reason I thought the first was Monday. Will I have a drink? Nah.
Iām an idiot⦠I thought it was real.
I thought you meant the Yale link and I was sitting there scratching my head trying to understand the jokeā¦
Because of the leftovers to store, or because you want another?
Both. I like wine along with a meal consumed at a leisurely pace. I usually find that two glasses are about right. The leftovers are less of an issue, but if I put red in the fridge, I need to remember to take it out to warm up to the mid-fifties. If any wine is getting too old, there is always the vinegar crock.
Heard. I make good use of my vacuum sealing lids. Sometimes it tastes better 2-3 days after, having opened up (cheap wines especially
). Fortunately for me, I like chilled reds.
We almost always have an open bottle or two of red on the kitchen counter (weāre not big red drinkers), and often an open white in the fridge. They either get drunk or used for cooking.
Is it a space issue for you?
Nope. I am in the same place. I also keep dry and sweet vermouth, Marsala, and Sherry in the fridge.
I keep getting locked out from reading this article. Are New Yorker articles normally behind a paywall?
Ugh, sorry, probably so. I may be able to copypasta, but I donāt want to go against site rules (copyright etc. that probz doesnāt just apply to recipes).
Thanks. If worse comes to worse I can find out if my public library has a digital subscription.
Enjoy

Thanks! So far I am enjoying drinking as many fancy drinks as I want and I donāt have to worry about the aftereffects the next day
I also promised myself I wouldnāt turn into one of those holier-than-thou non drinkers and so far its working.
