Be very careful before trying to make your own mustard, or you might end up like this guy…

In the USSR that string bag was known as an avoska - which imperfectly translates as a “what if” or “just in case”. With the availability of consumer goods always unpredictable, you were always ready to join a queue with an avoska in your pocket - string bags also expand to hold a lot of stuff. Ironically, they are also eco-friendly.
I made mustard once, when my mustard greens bolted and provided me with (what I thought was) a preponderance of seeds. It was not the best use of my time.
