McDonald's in General

Interesting!

From McDonalds own “secret menu”. I’ve been ordering a qp with cheese deluxe ( adds mayo, shredded lettuce and tomato), delete their nasty mayonnaise and add Big Mac sauce (they charge for it) and you get an essentially better Big Mac without the extra bread in between. Even the new ordering machines don’t seem to offer this, but at the counter it can be ordered.

Speaking of McD’s QP’s. Interesting although not surprising, Not that I think of A & W when it comes to hamburgers but still.

I feel this way about the sausage McMuffin with egg - no muffin, just plop the sausage, egg and cheese on a hash brown. Also, don’t forget to bring your own hot sauce.

That photo on just about every thread is getting to be tiresome.

Yes.

Has anyone ever recorded a dramatic reading of the Lazlo-Croc exchanges? I feel like someone should.

I had a McD’s 10 nugget combo for dinner on Tue. I found out the hard way that many restaurants that are open until 10 pm on a Tuesday in Toronto will not let a customer order take-out food at 9:15 pm. Toronto has has a problem staffing restaurants the last couple years, and the current economy means restaurants have shorter hours on weeknights.

$13.99 Cdn plus 13 % tax for a 10 nugget combo. Interestingly, Mary Brown’s much more satisfying 2 piece fried chicken dinner, including a pop costs $12.49, and the 3 piece MB fried chicken dinner costs $14.29. Mary Brown’s would have been a 20 minute walk, and it closes at 11 pm, so I had nuggets from my local 24 h McDonalds.

McD’s current Canadian pricing for a large-ish combo (10 nuggets but medium fries) is getting close to the prices for a nuggets and fries at restaurants/ pubs with table service. I usually get a QP or Filet O’Fish without fries, so I didn’t appreciate many people are paying $15 per person when they order at McD’s.

This was 3.89.

And worth every single American penny I paid for it. :yum:

I just stumbled on to this document, written anonymously by a supposed McDonald’s employee.

http://www.beneboy.com/mcmenu.pdf

Take what you will from it… I have my doubts based on the instruction of cooking egg mcmuffins, filet o’ fish, and hash browns (the latter two just say “buy it frozen - WTF?”).

But EmmyMade seems to indicate the french fries and Big Mac sauce are pretty much spot on.

Love EmmyMade.

McDonald’s accidentally gave me a BLT Bacon Egg McMuffin this morning, as well as the Bacon Egg McMuffin combo I ordered, instead of the Bacon Egg McMuffin and Bacon McMuffin Egg combo I ordered. The BLT Bacon McMuffin was tastier than the OG Bacon Egg McMuffin.

I don’t like the idea of a Chicken & Egg BLT McMuffin, which is a thing right now at Canadian McD’s.

I need to get to Canada. STAT.

For research purposes, obviously.

Agree on the McMuffins; I’m sorry they no longer offer them all day. Ditto the fish sandwich. I make fake ones now in my air fryer - works well. I once ordered a quarter pounder without cheese — yes I had to wait for it — but what I got for my wait was a hot hamburger. Yay.

I don’t think McDs owns all their locations; in fact I know of one near me that is a tenant.

What do you use for the fish?

Fieldwork is real research.

Lettuce/tomato for breakfast looks killer:

There’s (I think) a frozen Groton’s fish sandwich fillet portions (they’re square and not minced). 8 pieces to the bag. Here it is.

In the air fryer they crisp up very well I use a parchment liner. If you want to add cheese, I’d suggest sitting it on top of the fillet after it’s finished cooking and letting the retained heat of the fryer semi melt it.
